I seen this on songmeanings.net

I wonder where someone got those lyrics

Someone made them up. And it wasn't Maynard.

How pwnt will we be if those lyrics were true.
Nah, for real; I hardly doubt these lyrics are legit and like StA said - they're probably made up by some kid who found his dictionary again. Good find though... and a good laugh.

These are Maynardesque. They kind of have a little Ticks and Leeches vibe to them. But, they certainly fit with the Kerrang quote from Maynard about his dissatisfaction/disillusionment and what he said about trying to educate or make a change and that not happening. In fact, I think he may have said something about letting people just suffer the consequences, so these would fit.

Probably not by Maynard but I wouldn't mind even if it was. I like em.

Way too literal for Tool, I think.

Yes yes, they could be going in a "new direction", what with a shit title, track names and cover art, why not throw in some underwhealming lyrics as well. Byt that opening section about being up to his neck in the shit of mankind... it lacks the subtle ambiguousness that Maynard has demonstrated previously. The rest of it is more Maynardesq, but it feels a bit thrown together, doesn't feel like there's any cohesive meaning beneath some of it. I wouldn't be surprised to find that the originated on the backcover of some pale goth's maths excerise book.

WTF? LOL

I guess, they didn't read the Jones interview to include "who are you to wave your finger?" haha.

Rosetta Stoned are actually pretty good. Anyone know if those are lyrics for an actual song that is not Tool? Or they just made up?

Those The Pot lyrics where actually entertaining. I'm eager to hear what Tool would've done if that were the real lyrics. I wonder how they would've pulled it off. Seriously.

if a song or album leaks, i'll definately listen to it. but i feel that it would be more awesome if tool keeps everything from leaking and doesn't even put out a single before the album comes out. let the album stand on its own would be extremely toolish.

Considering the lyrics for "The Pot", the "Rosetta Stoned" lyrics, although pretty good, are most certainly fake. That's just pathetic. They are not even funny. No "lol". They actually piss me off, they are an insult.

lmao

Somedays I can't get off the pot (x2)
Hangovers where I'm not
The dissection of our souls entwined
With fears and breath and loathing
Architecture jested from the hatred
That I gave to you with kindness

But you're always on the pot
It makes me want to squat
And scream your name
My beckoned twilight

Someone should sing these then put music to them. Doesn't even have to sound like tool, just knowing that they've been made into a song would be good enough for me.

everyone has to keep in mind that TOOL had over FIVE YEARS to write these lyrics...i doubt, highly doubt, that the best they could come up with in five years is "But I just can't get off the pot."

i woudlnt actually mind if they wrote stuff like this- it's reminisciant of ticks and leeches

it's certainly got some aggression

it says it's teh lyrics for the demo, so it could actually be a fake

I think it's the perfect metaphor for Maynard's creative constipation.

Adam said in the guitarworld interview that "despite what people think, it did NOT take us five years to write this record. We've really been working on it the past year and a half."

But, besides that, I don't think time is the important thing anyway. Some great songs were thought up in five minutes. It is all about the emotion they convey.

The Pot:

"Who are you to wave your finger
"Cause I squat on the pot a lot
Before you point your finger
You should know I'm on the pot
I shot a lot of snot
When I could not get off the pot
I got off the pot
and my finger stunk a lot."

Is this actually what it said? There is no way possible that Maynard, unless jokingly, would ever put that kind of crap out there and actually try to pass it off as a real TOOL song unless he and the rest of the band have completely lost their minds and just dont really care if they sound like mindless idiots. I pray to the gods of rock that these are fake.
