awesome! thanks a bunch man, lets post whatever we can come up with, and see if we can piece it. some buddies and I cover this song once in a while and I would LOVE to try out these new lyrics.

edit: i'm thinking about running it through a filter with the major pass being the same notes he's hitting. i'll try it out in the next few days if we can't get the lyrics too well. it should make it more clear and I'll post an mp3 of it if possible.

This is from the 12.31.95 show with Primus. It was the debut of Justin and some new material. I have a VHS and cassette tape floating around somewhere. Hadn't heard the demo with Paul, so that was a treat! Thanks Chris!

Edit: Thier first show with Justin was 12.14.95, after Paul's departure. This show was show #4 with the new lineup.

the show is actual from 3/3/95. i've got the bootleg and came here to figure out what he said cause it sounds crazy and would have been awesome on the album ..but no one seems to know either. anyways hope the date helps out those of you who were asking. it's not december 04. and thanks brightwell for the demo...crazy stuff

That's from the Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five song "White Lines". I noticed Maynard singing that on a Paramount Theater bootleg I have (I'm not sure of the exact date at the moment).

I never took it very seriously though. Probably just Maynard goofing around and being awesome. And yeah, those are the correct lyrics.

I sang it at a lot of shows, actually. He also sang instead of or even next to it, Elvis' "Suspicious Minds", the part of "caught in a trap, I can't walk out, because I love you too much baby".

He usually sang these parts during the breakdown where he usually whispers. Although, towards the end of 2002, he was actually singing white lines at the very end of the song, so as the song was ending, he was still singing. Very cool.

Definitely appreciated, but are you sure about "Held what feeling did to me?" Doesn't really seem to completely fit.
