View Full Version : 10,000 Days listening party...

I was listening to Triple J (Australian radio station) tonight, and the local metal DJ, Andrew Houg had just been to a listening party for you guessed it, the new TOOL album (offically titled 10,000 days).

Maynard offically walked into the room (wearing blue jeans, white shirt and a cowboy hat :P) and put the album into a CD player, waited awkwardly until the album was over and then ejected the cd and put it back into his pocket.

Apparently they are hand delivering the album to listening party's so the songs dont get leaked.

As for the sound, heavy the key word. Apparently the drumming is awesome (no duh) and they have done some interesting things with the vocals. The production quality is way higher than before. The first cut that Andrew heard said 'smacks you in the face and is way heavier'.

( Triple J headquarters is either in Sydney or Melbourne)

Is there anyway to confirm this? Is it documented anywhere... or just word of mouth?

In the Australia Tour thread:

It starts about 58 minutes and 55 seconds in

"......the opening cut for the new Tool album just smacked me in the head....."

By "opening cut" does he mean the first song? I was a bit confused by that comment...

Sorry about the unnescessary "officially" it was late...

then again he was officially stated as to be wearing a cowboy hat :P Dave Bottrill is not the producer this time, but the engineer is this guy: http://www.mcdman.com/barresi.html

May 6 is the release date. THAT is most definitly official.

First cut, I think he means the first hearing of the album... Mr. Haug did say that he didn't want to say to much about the album as listening parties are an awkward way of hearing an album such as this. He doesn't want to make any further comments other than,"It's heavy...dudes"

and why is this in the rumours section. It is all real. :S

and it wasn't actually me that typed up this thread. I was on the phone telling a friend what to type because I have the internet. I never told him to put an "officially" there. I have apologised, get over yourselves. It isn't that funny...

...but then... an official cowboy hat... hrm...
