my source in LA (agent/promoter) tells me that Tool's booking agency are now holding a 'few select dates' in MAJOR MARKET outdoor venues for august. seems they are waiting to see who puts tickets up on sale in the next few weeks-months for the big summer tours and who will be competion for those dollars.

queensryche and judas priest double bill are touring all summer plus ozzfest is going out again. ac/dc has been in talks with US promoters for a summer tour as well as alice in chains re-union.

hopefully tool won't play ozzfest this year, that festival lost it a long time ago.

I agree, ozzfest was fun the few times i've been, but Tool dosent really fit in there unless it is 'tool fest'.

Ooo, hopefully they will hit the Tweeter Center. That'd be sweet.

they are booked for july 1st

i recommend the molson amphitheatre if they are doing outdoor shows, that would be "sik"

Pretty sure Red Rocks will be on that first tour, just like last album. Infact they started the US tour there.

If it's August, then I recross my fingers for The Gorge. I'd probably travel to Red Rocks too.

Last tour it was Sept 3rd. It was hot as hell that day and a great show.

It is a great place to see a show as long as you don't sit too far back. The best thing about it is that you make a day of concerts there, so you can get good seats.

Where did Incubus record that concert they released on DVD recently?

Did anyone even look at the other bands at Download? I'd venture to say even ozzfest could do better.

the ampitheatre sucks for something like edgefest. but last year the headliner was simple plan so i guess it is fitting. it would be a good venue if it was a tool concert, but not for a festival of that nature--too small

I'm just hoping for 1 show in the South before they hit Europe, I'm willing to travel a fair distance from Florida.

That would be a great place for the Chicagoland area

Didn't they close the amphitheatre? Or was that Molson Park... *confused*

Either way, I didn't enjoy Tool outdoors NEARLY as much as I enjoyed them in Hamilton.

I don't like festivals... too many people, and not enough good bands.

I'm gonna have to wait for a Hamilton show again... on it's own.

I would imagine they'll do the Air Canada Center (or Rogers Center) and probably The Corel Center in Ottawa. I hope they do all 3... the more the merrier.

The two Tool shows there were amazing. I cannot wait to make another mecca to watch Tool put on another legendary show.

Maynard seems to like playing Red Rocks. Opening the US tour for Lateralus there, and incidently, ending the APC Thirteenth Step tour there. But, who can blame him? This place owns. Anyways, I agree with eddie75. Expect Red Rocks near the front of the US tour dates.

I've seen tool 10 times and I've never seen them in the same place twice. One of the shows i missed in Chicago was at another different venue. I've always thought that tool played diffeent venues on purpose. Will they do the same again? We'll see I guess sooner or later they will have to repeat. i am hoping for another mini tour in intimate venues before Europe-If I have to travel a distance so be it.

I'm excited for another red rocks show. Can't blame them for wanting to play there. Compared to the other venues I've seen them at they always tend to go the extra mile at red rocks.

It is an amazing venue. One day I'd like to go there.
Any NYers in this thread? What are we thinking, Jones Beach?
