Yeah. There will most likely be about 6-8 shows in the US before they set out on this big Euro festival tour. Then it looks like the US will get their first major tour sometime in late July - August.

I'm just curious as to what Blair was talking about...

"Only problem is, with regards to the Hamburg, Germany show and the Interlaken Festival in Switzerland, I'm not sure which one I'd rather be at... (since there is no June 1st show)"

That particular show falls on 06/06/06. What's the Interlaken Festival all about?

I didn't think about that. They could probably fill up the rest of July with those dates and then a break before starting a US tour. So I'm thinking the US tour will begin in August at the earliest.

Yeah, they are running pretty close to the same schedule as for the 2001 Lateralus tour. Should see them back in the US in early to mid- August.

Hopefully before then, a mini US tour between Coachella and the first European date!

Tool will perform in 4 U.S. cities before the European tour in Mid-May. Those cities are as follows: Atlanta, New York, Chicago, and Detroit. We will announce the exact dates of these shows this week.

Maybe they're worried about selling out two nights (not sure why). So they want to make sure the first sells out completely before the second goes on sale. It seems unlikely that they'd have a two-night gap, and that they'd only do one show in London, considering they did four over two years for Lateralus.

Someone mentioned that APC did a warmup tour with NIN. We have some Sasquatch festival at the Gorge in Central Washington in early May and the Friday it starts there is a special TBA guest playing before NIN. Does that sound at all like it could be TOOL? Or would they not play a festival unless they were headlining? Any opinions?

They are rumoured to play the English Reading/Leeds festival at the end of August; there are cheap busses (www.eurolines.com) or flights (www.easyjet.com) to travel with.

On the other hand, last time they did Europe twice in summer (2001/2002), so you could see them next year or so. No chance that you could go to Europe sooner than August?

Here are a couple things to ease your nerves:

1) Before they leave for Europe this year, it seems very likely they will play a US mini-tour in early May. Even if they don't include Philly in the mini-tour, they would surely be playing in NYC, which is only a couple hours away.

2) If this tour resembles the Lateralus tour from 2001-2002, they will be back in Europe in late Spring/early Summer 2007.

I think thats forever...

I remember reading somewhere that "No ones ever had to renew their account". Its well worth it, though i was well bummed that you can't get any of the "better" memberships. (The ones that throw in free exclusive clothes.)

It took me ages to work out that i couldn't get them, being from blighty and all.

Here's a list of dates for TOOL SHOWS that we can announce at this time (i.e. they are finally official). Only problem is, with regards to the Hamburg, Germany show and the Interlaken Festival in Switzerland, I'm not sure which one I'd rather be at... (since there is no June 1st show).

That suggest to anyone else that something maybe released on that day?

Probably they'll only play the new single at Coachella, since that would be the only new song released by the last weekend of April. I highly doubt they'd leak any of their own tracks by performing them live 4 days before the album is set to release.

"Which reminds me, K-CAL channel 9 weather phenom Jackie Johnson predicts some more rain tomorrow, with plenty of sunshine for the weekend. She's amazing... I don't know how she does it. As one emailer wrote, more television stations should recruit their meteorologists from Hooters."

I think that this is the reaction the band likes to see from Blair's efforts.

gerbil

I generally don't mind Blair, the secrecy, or the disinformation. However, it would be somewhat nice if we could trust things that were coming from the official site. It's a little unnerving to realize that nothing is "confirmed" until I hold it in my hands. However, like paraflux said, that's probably what the band is going for.
