Mmm, I think the style is really similar to Maynard on Thirteenth Step, especially in 'The Stranger'.

The track seems pretty obviously produced using top-end recording software, with fairly authentic MIDI sounds, still it is a bit crappy sounding.

I, for one, think that there were far too many effects on the vocalist's voice to be Maynard. He is one of the few who dont reallly need a lot of effects to sound good, and really, hardly ever sounds all spacy like that. Vague, sure, but not all overladen with effects. You can always tell it's him. And... those drums sound like they were put together in Fruity Loops without much care.

I just put on that album for shits and giggles, and with the exception of Get Away, they really don't sound much like tool. I'm willing to bet their label made that the single because it sounds so much like tool. The rest of the album isn't half bad.
