View Full Version : Tool Tour Spring-Summer 2006 - confirmed shows and rumours

I think tour dates, confirmed or just rumoured shows should be collected in one place. There are millions of threads already on this subject, so it would probably be simpler and easier to have them all in one place.

They'll do the U.S last, although there will be the mini tour, but like I said the dates so far seem to be in line with the promo dates, not the actual dates but in which country they will tour first, then second and so on...

No Netherlands? ... fuckers.

I haven´t heard any rumours about Netherlands. Have you heard anything?

List will of course be updated when new information is available. If you have rumours or anything, post it here.

Also, I´d expect a Swedish date around July 4 - 9. What festivals are held then? There hasn´t been any info yet but if Quart is almost confirmed, Ruisrock has said that Tool is possible then it would see like there would be some room for a Swedish date.

Windir

Isn´t Roskilde or some Rock am Deutschland festival near enough?

Windir
01-31-2006, 09:23 AM
Rock Am Ring? Maybe... there is also a Belgium festival near. But I cant go to either of those, which makes it really hard + the fact that I really dislike festivals for no particular reason at all... I just hate'm.

Perseensilmä

I was referring to both of those German festivals (Rock am Ring, Rock in Park). I am pretty sure that Tool will perform there.

Festivals are cool. Only thing that bothers a bit about those is that they´ll probably play a shorter set and since it´s Summer there wont be as dark as it should be. Or maybe not, if it´s night it will be great anyway.

Windir
01-31-2006, 09:30 AM
Mweh. It would be cool to see them performing but I'm pretty sure Tool will come to Netherlands when they're doing their European Tour (whenever that will be). I'll be patient and wait for that to come. I'll probably have the first 5 tickets of each concert. Harrr harrrrrr!

I am definately hoping for a mini tour starting from the album release date and going up to the first festival they play in Europe. Wherever they come in the mid-west I will be there. I need to see them before I start med school in August.

Is flying from Canada to see Tool at Coachella worth it. I do really really like a couple other bands that will be there and have heard good things about some of the other bands I haven't listened too. Also, I plan on visiting family which I probably would have done sometime in the summer regardless. Coachella is just the incentive to go at that particular time, but it may be a little rushed. Do you think I should just wait till they swoop back around to the states in july/august to see them or should I take advantage of Coachella? Thanks for the input.

Also, I do plan on seeing them when they come to Canada as well, but I do want to see them more than once.

I'd say no, but it's more of a personal thing. I tend to hate festivals because you don't get the full set. It's kinda like the lite no calorie version of their set. They get limited time compared to them doing their own tour, and they won't have all their toys (vid screens and props). Although if you like other bands there and have the money to burn, it would be fun just to go. But a festival show won't compare to a full on tool show.

Aparently this list is accurate to about 90%, (RHCP being one band that will not play), and it seems likely given their touring nature

In 2001 Deftones & Tool performed at Werchter -> no passenger
In 2003 Deftones & A Perfect Cirlce concert -> no passenger

Im actually pretty sure they DID perform Passenger at Werchter for some reason... i have a bootleg from one of the european deftones shows (99% sure it was werchter), and it has Passenger with Maynard

Though i read about em playing it at the Canada show as well, but im not sure on that one.

Agreed, festivals are fun but for the musical experience? Nah.

Hmm, when you are close to the stage it's not that bad. But since there are so many people who want to be in front... that's usually quiet hard to achieve. As in: you have to be there during/before the show before the one you want to see. Which means you have to 'suffer' a band you don't want to see while you are missing other bands that are playing elsewhere on the festival.

Not a problem if the reward is Tool though...

That´s kinda "stupid" to think like that. We don´t have to choose, neither do we have a chance to choose. The thing is that Tool plays at festivals, period. I would understand your point if Tool played a festival gig and the next day they played a club gig 100000 kilometres away. Then there would have to be a choice but not in this case. Well, if I had to choose I´d probably go to a club but I don´t mind seeing Tool playing some awesome festival gigs.

Was that in '02 Brightwell?October 13, 2001. Oak Mountain Ampthitheater (which has since been purchased by Verizon and renamed).

The best part of the whole night was during Ænema, when Maynard belts out, "I'm praying for rain." Right at that moment, Jr. took a cue from mother nature and flooded the entire audience area with blue lights. He lit up every single drop of rain in that place.

Talk about a knock-you-on-your-ass moment.

The US does have some cool festivals, but it seems Europe takes the cake, they know how to throw a festival..also when Live 8 came out..who got the best line up? Europle! Why? Pink Floyd!

And Brightwell, I do agree with you, I'd rather see Tool in a small club rather than a festival , but honestly, is that even gonna happen? I doubt Tool will play a venue that holds less than 10,ooo (crosses fingers for Hammerstein)

It has just been anounced that TOOL will play in Katowice, Poland on the 24th of June. I could not have wished for a better place and a better date. Thank you lord, thank you lord.

I tend to not really like festivals, although I've never been to a real one like coachella or bonaroo, just ozzfest and warped tour. I'd like to go to one of the big european ones, that seems like it would be a fun experience.

Only if there's someone you want to see *and* you care for the festival atmosphere.

Well.. obviously.

I wouldn't go to a festival if I didn't enjoy going to them or didn't want to see any of the bands there.

According to the music magazine "Visions" Tool´s playback date for the german press was yesterday. They also wrote that 3 headline dates in Germany were planned, however the confirmation was expected to take place today but nothing happened.
Well.

Hopefully i will get to see them this tour, if i dont i will probebly just stop being a fan of tool... because i have never been to 1 tool concert, and if it takes me another 5 years to get the chance to see them, that is too long.....

Yeah, supposedly, but no one has been announced for Reading thus far this year. I think they'll play Download in mid June...possibly headline the Friday, the only day left open for a headliner.

I'm planning to visit some family in Italy soon... so why not in June? Seriously, this news doesn't suck for one reason: the dates are in June so the new CD shouldn't be delayed past May. I still say the release date will be 666.

Hey guys,

Best news I've heard all year. I live in Ireland, me and 3 others are going to the show in Rome. Should be an unbelievable holiday, 12 days in the sunshine which we don't get too much over here. Low price airlines and tool tickets were only 150 euro each. Now all I have to do is convince everyone to go to the Bologna show the next day. It's a bit of a treck tho, about 250 miles from Rome-Bologna.

I'm a bit worried though because these shows are still unconfirmed in the tour section of this site. Should I be? I mean are they just being extra cautious about dates? Is anyone else going to these shows?
We've actually bought the tickets already so I hope they will confirm the damn shows soon!

My first post!

666... that's like August 5th or something.

That's my birthday! If only I lived in Poland...

...i'm holding out for Reading/Leeds confirmation. Glastonbury isn't on this year, so i'm hoping Tool will do Carling. Only problem is, with there being no Glastonbury, tickets for all other festivals and gonna sell REAL fast.

For months now I have been getting this sinking feeling that I'm going to miss the first Melbourne show (assuming that they will come back here again). I'm going to be in India, Nepal and Tibet from mid-May to Mid-November and going by the dates that have been emerging for a while now, it would seem that Tool will hit Australia around the August-September period. I'm hoping that they'll do Europe and then a MASSIVE US tour but it seems unlikely.

Still, all hope is not lost. The second time around I'll take off to Sydney for hopefully two shows (which I believe they did on both legs of the Lateralus tour?) and maybe to Brisbane if I have enough money.
