Bit early, but what do you all think the April Fools prank will be....

Maybe one of the guys accidentally used the Master Recording in the answering machine and taped over it.....

The CD's have been pressed backwards and are delayed for another few months....

Korn have launched a lawsuit against against Tool for very noticable similarities between Tools album and 'See You on the Other Side'.....

- Justin, Danny, and Adam leave Tool to join the Axl Rose Project, Maynard declares Puscifer his musical future

or maybe
- Guests for the new album are revealed including: 50 Cent, Kelly Clarkson, and Fred Durst

Nice. How about: they announce that they'll appear on Howard Stern to kick off the new album promotion.

That could actually be quite cool. Not as cool as Tool, but Axl is one crazed out bloke, could be fun to see the result of this mix... :P

It'll have to be a doozy. They have to know by now that no self-respecting Tool fan would believe a single thing they hear on/around april 1st.

My guess is that it'd be more of a publicity stunt than anything else. Kinda like the aforementioned "turning to Jesus" thing last year... anyone else wondering if there are a few Christian-Rock fans who're gonna be picking up the new album on account of that prank?

has no-one else noticed all the christ/jesus references around, starting with the "maynard found jesus" april fools. Maynard has his own wine (the blood of christ, which is mentioned by blair in the last news post). and his supposed "Jesus" myspace page.
meh nothing else, but you know, it's another rubbish thing to hurl abuse about

^That one sounds about right, something like the studio that was housing the original copies was burnt down and now Tool have to create the whole album again.......or the boys enlist in the army due to a terrorist act yet to be committed.

The April Fool`s will be like this: Blair will announce on toolband.com that the new album will be released in the second half of April, that its title will be, let's say "Tiphareth" and will give us tracklist but we will all think: "Huh, it's April Fool's it can't be true, he's just fooling with us and everyone will say- very funny Blair but no one believes You, we are waiting for the real news, but then at the end of April they will release the album just like they announced and it will be so funny:)

And of course most of everyone wouldn't expect that. It just probably won't make any sense (like most of everything so far), and it'll be obvious after the release, or in the near future. They'll put something else right under our nose, that we won't get. And they will have won, once again.

I also think that whatever is posted for "April Fool's" will be true, but something relatively BIG, as far as news goes. Just so that its seems maybe....too good to be true and people will have to make the decision whether to Ripley's Believe It......OR NOT.

Staticfactory

With all of the secrecy and gag-orders surrounding the album, I wouldn't be surprised if the joke was something to do with a legal battle. For example: Someone has leaked the album, or has divulged information without concent, resulting in a lawsuit. The release has been postponed, under court orders, until the issue is cleared up.

This would work 2-fold, as anyone that believed the prank would be frantically scouring the net looking for said information/content.

Regardless, if they do try to trick us, it'll have to be damn believable!

I think the best would be eleasing the album on April 1st, then making a post about it on the site. No one would believe he post for awhile and then the cd would be released with none of us knowing. That would be great.

No matter what they do as April Fools prank, it can only be predictable. We are all waiting for it. If it will be anywhere near last one´s in terms of ridiculousness, things will be all too clear. If it will be somewhat reasonable, we would still handle it with special care.

After all, April Fools is supposed to be funny, isn´t it?
