Here's a little drawing I did. I'd like to get into painting, but I don't really have the space to do so right now. Plus, there's something about the conversion from pencil to brush that I just can't get used to. That is, I paint like I draw, which usually looks like shit. If anyone has any tips, let me know. I have a website which has some more drawings in my profile. Thanks, folks, if there's one opinion that matters to me, its other TOOL fans.

This reminds me of Dali's work. Kinda icky really...
...not that I don't enjoy Dali...It just has a creepyness all its own.

Whether it was meant as one or not, I take that as a huge compliment. First time I've been compared to anyone, Thanks.

The Temptation of Saint Anthony

i paint... and let me jsut recommend working with watercolors alot first... just to get the feel of the brush... but watercolor is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and NOTHING LIKE any other paints.... theyre just so different.... i dont really like watercolor too much, but its the best way to get into painting... if you start of with oils, all youll have is an empty wallet, a bunch of used canvases and a messy house... watercolors are cheap... after water colors it is a good idea to go to gouche ( which is an opaque watercolor) but you can just skip it all together. then to acryllics the oils.... oils is very different from any other paints to... you have to feel it to understand what i mean.... another recommendation.... turn on youre local PBS staion an watch Bob Ross paint.... HE IS A TRUE MASTER...... he can make beautiful works of art in under 30 minutes... no planning... just winging it.... it is very awesome....

Well, since I believe everything influences me, I suppose Dali does. I think I'll start looking into his stuff more thanks.

Those paintings are great, and thanks for the tips. You can't beat Escher's "Relativity". I'll be moving into a nicer place this summer and may have the opportunity to pursue some painting. I'm looking foward to it. Right now I'm working on a pencil piece inspired by the book "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood. I'll be sure to put er up.

Nice work Andy, it was funny but somehow disturbing.

And about Dali. He's my favourite artist because his works are so insane but beautiful.
