I logged onto Toolarmy today and noticed this was posted. "Ryan." posted this already in the "Signed Lateralus Vinyls" topic but I figured I would go ahead and post it here since many come here looking for info on the new album and may or may not read the vinyl topic.

During a recent “talking board” working, when I asked a specific entity that was summoned and bound via ceremonial magick techniques into the Triangle of Manifestation (i.e. into the clear plastic massage indicator on the planchette) if any more SIGNED copies of the “Lateralus” vinyl would be made available to members of the Tool ‘Collective’, the answer I received was “yes.” Although such entities (particularly lower astral elementals) are known to be notorious liars (tricksters might be a kinder word), after being repeatedly tested, I have come to the conclusion that the answer given by this particular manifestation (in a symbiotic relationship with human bio-magnetism) was intended to be truthful. Therefore, once ‘Merch’ confirms this, I will post any relevant details. But that’s not all I asked the entity. Since my hands have been tied, so to speak, with regards to so many of your Tool-related questions (especially those having to do with the new record), I decided to remove the violet silk cover from my store-bought oracle (my Parker Brothers 1967 deluxe edition Ouija board, no less) in order to evoke a disincarnated entity from its astral residence (an elemental that hopefully has attained “Tiphareth” aspects of consciousness and, as such, is above the antics of those who wander in Yesod’s shadows, or, even worse, wallow in the Malkuthian mire) to see how it would respond to the FAQ. I am currently in the process of transcribing the gist of this Enochian-based “talking board” ritual as it was recorded by the scribe (in this case, a battery operated voice recorder), and hope to have it posted soon.

There you go. Take as you will, whether it be an interview (audio or transcribed), newsletter, whatever, it seems as though we may hear more information soon.

A good name for mysticism would be: MYSTICAL MYSTICAL MYSTICAL.

Parker Brothers = ))<>(( poop forever
gist = girth = membrum virile
1967 = MCMLXVII
Enochian = eunuch = pinoccio
Tiphareth = the Sphere of Beauty, and Perfect Equilibrium

is Blair a fucking holistic?

I wish TOOL would get with the scientific program and help the world advance!

as opposed to lateralus, spiraling out and still being human while swinging on the spiral of our divinity before we pine away to leave behind this place so negative and blind while prying open our third eye while in a mantra?

yeah, fuck that idea. tool are never deep.

Hopefully you're not all assuming that when Tool include's Kabbalic mysticism in their music they're citing the same inane babble Madonna follows. The Kabbalah (as in the real Judaic text) is not a load of bullshit (to those who follow Judaism at least, as for atheists I don't dare assume what they believe), and it is not some goddamn fad. Jews always find out about the Kabbalah when they're young like I did and it's a kick in the balls to see the most secrect, mystic aspect of your religion whored out by a stupid slut for the world to see. Considering Tool aren't a bunch of assclowns, I believe they'd handle the subject matter a lot more delicately and a lot less "know-it-all" like Madonna. They'd give the Kabbalah it's proper respect I'd hope.

I hope they do, and the cover is just a picture of her sitting on the couch in her underwear eating a big bucket of fried chicken. Also, one of the transition (filler) "songs" will be her eating a bowl of cereal.

That's a good point, I hate seeing what I hold sacred being psuedo-appreciated by the masses as well. I think Tool have done a good job so far in keeping it fairly subtle, and demonstrating class.

Sorry thoth, didnt see that.

KJM
01-04-2006, 09:54 PM
The best part about you guys talking about how sacred the kabbalah is, is the fact that you're not even suppose to actually really know anything about it in the first place yourself EVEN if you are Jewish. So if you really wanted to hold it as sacred as it was suppose to be in the first place you would've kept your own face out of it ;)

Interesting that this happens to be Sphere 6, and that Tool's upcoming release is going to be their 6th full length release (I'm considering full length to mean anything but a single, so Opiate counts).

I think it'd be an awsome name for the album, and a decent concept... which I know very little about.

If I'm being completely honest, I truly don't think the new album name is "Tiphareth." Chances are that whatever confidentiality agreement exists between Blair and the boys with the record company encompasses that the actual name of the release not be leaked, nor the release date or full title of any songs. Maybe he threw the term in there to point us in the right direction or something.. or maybe not. I've been wrong before. But I'm hedging my bets that "Tiphareth" isn't the name of the album.

right, I believe that was my point? were you going somewhere with that? I have to assume you were agreeing with me? don't talk shit about other people making kabbalah known when you yourself probably shouldn't know about it?

I don't know if this means anything or not but Blair has mentioned 'Tiphareth' before, about halfway through the December 2004 newsletter:

This called for drastic measures. Perhaps I'll summon Nexhagus, Choronzon's little brother, or, better yet, Niantiel Š a perfect circle, you betcha', being the reverse of Tiphareth... (fiendishly pleased)... Excellent. No, I said this called for DRASTIC measures. Just imagine it, Miss July (if that really is your name), Maynard's New Atlantis...

At the end of the newsletter, Blair lists 13 'Secrets of the December Newsletter'. Read into it however you like. In my opinion, Blair seems quite proud, at the end of this newsletter, of how he might of included 'hidden' or 'secret' messages etc. I just hope something new comes soon, like some sort of announcement on January 17th...

Not when that's the topic of the album.

Lateralus is probably a reference to the muscle in the leg without which you can't stand or walk. In other words, "These are concepts without which you can't function as a human being."
