okay, it's time to put to rest this silly debate over who eulogy is about.

yes, maynard uses metaphors, and the point of a metaphor is to illustrate a point, it shouldn't be taken literally. BUT, eulogy is a song written with a dark objective in mind. there is no doubt. i still get chills when i listen to this song.

starting at about 7:00 exactly, the song takes on a new beat, it slows down a bit, and then builds to the point when maynard says ' come down ... ' play it and listen -- it is a deliberate buildup to a very dark point in the song. maynard does this for a reason. he makes a rather disparate reference to our lord and savior ( hehe ) JESUS H CHRIST. it is brilliant, because you are left to wonder what maynard believes, but in my opinion, it's obvious.. i think maynard is a religious genius, and i think he has chosen a side, or should i say ' force '.

don't think this song out. music isn't supposed to be rationalized. llisten for yourself, and feel it. in the end, his point bleeds through, like jesus did on the cross.
