Yeah i know just what we need another speculation thread. But I thought this one through though.

Okay, I was going through the previous chat sessions that tool has had with the TA members and here is one from March 6 2003.

Here is the whole chatlog in which I found of interest.

The rest of it goes on to pretty much nothing. So maybe a dvd release that isn't a live performance dvd is on the way. Or maybe this film will come along with the live dvd. I remember Blair has said something along the lines of other "goodies" that they have been working on for a long time would come out soon. Or maybe this is just nothing.

Wow, these TOOL chats seem way unorganized. They should have it so the people must message some moderators privately (because the chat is locked to all except the members and friends) and the moderates ask the members then went for answer then ask the next question. Or is that how it's done in the offical chats?

Yeah I only joined a few weeks ago. I thought it would be more organized as well. In the main chat it looks like it gets pretty bad. I can see why the guys dont go in there very much. You can tell that adam was just kinda wierded out by everything, people posted their phone numbers for him to call them and just random stuff like that.

Then Adam goes into a smaller room with less people and you can tell he gets more comfortable because he talks a lot more, but then everyone finds out he is in there and they all flood in there and it starts up again.

I just hope they get some info across despite all the stupid questions/trying to be funny comments.

I reckon they have been making this film/movie wall type thingy, what ever the fuck it is, it should be good though, 3 plus years in the making give or take a few members not being around all the time but I'm sure someone has been working on it when Tool hasn't been in the studio.

I'm anticipating this release more than the new album. The new album will be fucking shit anyway.(telling my self so I'll be surprised)

Q: When is the next album coming out?
A: The band is concentrating on the current tour right now. Work on the next album has not begun yet, and at present there are no plans that we know of. They probably won't think about that until both tours are over and they have had at least a short break to recover. However, there is another project in the works, due for release later this year. It involves all four members of the band and is something completely new and different for TOOL. We promise you will be amazed, inspired and mesmerised. Details are being kept under tight wraps but as the release date draws nearer, we will let you know first.

I'm seriously hanging for the LIVE DVD, if the bootlegs are anything to go by then this will be fucking fantastic.

'The Patient Live' is great so just thinking of it being professionally done is just awesome. The picture quality the sound and what ever else they can do will be incredible.

If they do this film then it will most likely be on a separate DVD but hopefully in the same package as the LIVE DVD.

2 hours of really good quality footage from the 2002 tour and maybe the music videos will fit on one disc without problems? maybe....? I'm not sure but if it's the case then the film would have to be separate....?

I know the film hasn't been confirmed but I'm sure there is something in the works, as posted above, they have been working on something completely different since 2002....

I doubt that the film will be released anytime soon.
The live DVD might be, but the film will probably take a while.
Especially since most of this time Maynard has been with APC and a film takes longer to record than an album.

But that's just my opinion.
I personally can't wait for the album or anything. Heh.

I don't think maynard is as involved in the film as Adam or the others. And, they have been working on it for a long time now. It really depnds on how much anyone has been working on it.

I think a live DVD isn't something Tool will do. I ahve a DVD bootleg from a 2002 show, it looks pretty good, but KNowing how Tool are, they wouldn't release footage of a live show on purpose.

Tool doesn't show their faces without any covering-up or mutating them very often on things that they sell, Undertow and Salival are the closest they have come, and neither one of them show a regular picture. If it were my guess, they'd show thing that are on the screens when they play, or make up something new along those lines. They may refer back to some live footage, but it most likly we be something other than them playing their instruments.

I'm having second thoughts about the film, if they were to do one then I believe it would be done with stop motion animation, but they could hire other actors. I reckon they are focusing their attention on the live DVD and of course the new album.

Whether or not the DVD is/has a movie remains to be seen but it may contain some extra work outside of the music and tour footage, hopefully.

I still think it will be incredible, both the album and the DVD but the DVD for me will be something very very special and important to those who have and might not ever see Tool live.
