well u can spell maynard without "maine" but you cant say maynard without "maine" .. my guess is that he just likes being in maine? there are some nice beaches there .. but the waters are very cold all year round.. im pretty stumped i dont know why he assosciates with maine soo much..

tool playing there
apc playing there
records being mastered there.... who knows??

edit: i forgot about this aswell, when i saw apc in glens falls NY, maynard asked who was going to the agusta, maine show the next day... he then said anyone whos going to the maine show tomarow, if you show up with a battlefield earth t-shirt will get 2 of outr t-shirts for free, has he done this anywhere else??

Some facts about Tool and Maine:
1. Tool played 150 shows in North America on their Lateralus tours.
2. Most bands don't play 150 shows in North America promoting 1 album.
3. Tool played 2 of those shows in Maine (9/20/01 in Portland + 10/26/02 in Augusta)
4. Most bands play in Portland. (unless your the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Springsteen, U2, etc. who only play 15000+ seat arena's and sell their tickets for $100+)
5. Tool played 1 show in Maine on the Aenima tours and the was an off-show during the Ozzfest tour.

I wouldn't call that alot of shows in Maine (3 in 10 years)

My girlfriend hates Maine. She says it is stinky and boring. I like Maine. Mostly cause of Stephen King.
