DVD display set up @ Hastings?

ok ,i just talked to my brother who was at hastings yesterday and he told me they have a big display set up in the store for the dvd, with a release date of aug 23. the display had tool in big letters and under the display it had dvd coming aug 23rd, pre-order your copy for $2.50. i know there hasnt been any confirmation of any release date, but why would hastings set up this display if they werent sure that it wasnt coming out then? it doesnt make any sense. so has anyone been there lately and seen this display?

I'm pretty sure you can preorder anything at Hastings. I've seen a Tool clock and backpack there. Also, they had this sale one time where they put all of the Tool cds and Mer De Noms up on the higher rack (where the specials usually are), and had a $9.99 sale for the release of 13th Step.

Maybe the people at Hastings know where it's at.

I found out some info about the whole Hastings thing and it is not bullshit.

Hasting's gets updated lists that contain music release dates months in advance. As we all know, schedules change and dates get moved around. August 23rd was scheduled for the release of the new Tool album at some point (months ago). If you remember correctly, the band DID set a timeline for recording this album at the beginning of this year. They wanted to get it done in a scheduled period of time.

It appears that they have missed that original deadline (which is no surprise to the fans who have waited for Tool before). So August 23rd is NOT the date for the new album. It is still unclear where the word "Teleincision" came from too. It may have been a name that was considered early on.

Things have probably changed since the "Teleincision" idea was thrown around. Maybe some serious obstacles came up causing the delays?
