I went into town today, and decided to go to HMV to ask if they'd gotton word of a release date for either the new album or DVD. They said no news on the DVD but the release date is September 19th as it stands. Album name is yet to be confirmed.

I'm sorry if someone has already posted something about this, but i couldnt find anything.

Oh, and HMV is a chain record store in England for those that dont know. (Although i'm aware some have decided to rename it as HIV hehe). I trust this news.

am i the only one who thinks the DVD will be released first, like Salival was? The DVD would be rather anticlimactic if it came after a new album. It would be a big marketing mistake I think. If you release a new album with new music, then 2 months later release a DVD with music from 5 years ago, it wont do as well because people have already been satiated by the new album. i think the dvd would provide closure to the lateralus era, and the new album will start a new one.

i think that if they released the dvd two more years from now it would still sell a helluva lot of copies. if you dont believe me, look on these boards and see how many people are talking about it. it may be songs that we've all heard before, but its in a different format making it a new product almost. its the same reason why a lot of people seek after rare live bootlegs. they're the same songs, but in a new light.
