did anyone see the Nine Inch Nails cover art competition at DeviantArt? it would be pretty cool to see something like that for the new Tool album...

here's the link to the NIN one:

http://nine-inch-nails.deviantart.com/favourites/

there are pretty good entries. would anybody be interested?

Those are, indeed, some excellent-looking submissions. I'd be interested in a cover contest, although I think Tool would rather rely on "professional" artists...but hey, it would be cool...

well of course Tool wouldnt do it officially..... it'd just be fanart.

Interesting article. I like the theme Adam talks about for the next album...

But they're seriously considering using that picture as an album cover? Please tell me they'll find something better than that.

I think the cover will feature livestock taking a shit on maynards chest

OMG I had a dream with the album cover being the SAME EXACT thing.

While the livestock were shitting on his chest he was jackin Justin off. I almost exploded in my pants.

They've been eluding to it for years. It's about time they fucking did it already.

Those NIN covers are actually sad. Most of them look like they
would be covers for crappy goth/electronica bands who
can only be found on tribute albums.
The only one I like is this one (http://www.deviantart.com/view/7899825/) and it looks too much like something from the Fragile.
Blah.

And... having that deepsicks thing as the cover wouldn't change
how the music sounds. I wouldn't mind.

i think it would be sort of amusing to have the deepsticks pic o the album art... like you said it wouldnt change their style of playing soo.. it wouldnt matter to me.. although if they did i would like to see some stunning alex grey/ adam jone art on it.. even if cam or chet does it i think it would be killer

that chick in the middle is fine.

did adam really say that? I thought it was a joke at first, but then it started sounding serious and was agreeable to read.... I suppose.

but I hope they go with something visually cool as hell.... nothing tops that moment when the screens roll down and you see the alex grey man wave at you.

that shit blew the entire audience away.... at least.... it blew the impressionable youth away.

tool wouldn't put a parental advisory stick on the front of their new Cd.

They wouldn't be given much choice.

There are when you first purchase them, but they don't print the PA directly onto the packaging.

They wouldn't be given much choice.

They can put it on the back, or it would be on the plastic packaging, so they wouldn't ruin the cover of the CD

I have a sticker on my Opiate case and my Undertow case; the stickers on Ænima are forced to the shrink-wrap because you can't stick them on the case for obvious reasons.
