Alternate Track Order?

I have been reading about this alternate (parabol/parabola) track order for Lateralus, and I still can't figure out where the order comes from. Somebody said it had something to do with Planet X and a numerology system that Columbus used when searching for the New World??!!

Could somebody please explain to me where the order originated from, and is it worth compiling Lateralus with this new order onto a burned CD?
