I've recently purchased "The Piano tribute to Tool" which is far and away the best of the Tool tribute CD's. Their music transfers very well to the piano, much more so than I had imagined. The best tunes are Schism, Sober, Undertow, and Opiate. The last track is the most intruiging however. The name of the pianist is Ark Sano, and he plays a track called "Ark's Hammer", which sounds very Tool-ish. My theory is that it may or may not be a sample of the new Tool CD. I like it a lot.

That seems a very wide ranging theory.

Seriously though i doubt that its a sample of the new songs. I dont think that tool would lend themselves to that.

There is a song on each of the tribute cd's that is inspired by tool's music. The piano player wrote a song that sounds like tool. It's not a song off the new cd.

I'd be worried if Tool started giving away snippets of new material to un-official releases like that...

Worried is not the right word, I believe. Unless you try to keep the calm in this forum. Anywho. I own 2 tribute to Tool albums.

Chamber Made: The Baroque Tribute to Tool:

This, I have to say, is a pretty good tribute. The songs are weird, yet satisfying to the hearing. It doesnt really have the Tool feeling that's needed to be a good Tribute, but it has still enough feeling to it that you keep listening. Though - I would not recommend this Tribute to anyone.
A Tribute: Tool (Cleopatra)

Worst thing I heard in my life. All these fake lil crappy bands that try to imitate Tool, while they sound horrible. I think there are only 1, maybe 2 songs on this album that are ok. In other words: This Tribute sucks! DONT BUY THIS!

Edit: Stupid links wont work. *sigh*'
Edit Edit: Now they will.
