off course the martyr may not be a religious one. the cross may be symbolically used.
But how can we explain "the next fool martyr" ?
i mean the person betrayed can call him a liar, a cheater or such things, but not a fool. Instead, he was fooled by the guy

And if we take a closer look at the symbolism, we may see that christ was not nailed by his followers, but by the romans and the crowd. what i'm saying is that the person betrayed and the person who speaks in these lyrics can't be the same.in this lyrics is the one who "nailed" the guy, not the one betrayed by him.

it could be a person's thoughts when he sees jesus on the cross. he believed in him to bring salvation, but the son of god let himself be killed. he is betrayed. and the verse above belongs to the romans

but then, this "will you, will you now, would you die for me?, dont you fucking lie" spoils this theory...
