do you think that the band will continue doing the same claymation, little blue men, vagina videos? or do you think that adam might do something different for a change.

except the little blue men in schism is only one little blue man in parabola and two blue people in stinkfist and a 2 little off-white people in aenema and another little man in sober but hes not blue and theres a little blue alien in prison sex!1 maynard is usually a little blu man but not in hush.

nonono! theres no person in prison sex you fool! ONly an alien and a leg-less puppet.... and you claim to be a tool fan.

Parabola was a lot like Prison Sex.

Edit: Anyways, who cares if the little blue alien is in most of their videos, he is always different in some way. I didn't see the Aenema alien's face bounce forward and back. The schism guy looked nothing like the Stinkfist guy. Well scratch my first sentence, the main character(s) are always different. You're an idiot, and it was a waste of a post to write this...argh.

I like the way Tool makes their videos. The claymation is great. I hope they keep adding little things to it, but do not change what they already have going. The animation at the end of Parabola was cool. I would like to see a Tool video animated by Alex Grey.

I don't think he's an animator.

Not really, but he's a fricking amazing artist. Check out his webpage. alexgrey.com or something.

Are you high? He did the ending animation for Parabola. It would be pretty crazy to see an entire video made my Alex Grey and Adam.

I wish they'd try something different for a change.

I, too, wish they would show the band carousing about towne, buying balloons for little kids and dancing in the street. They could go into an antique shoppe and appraise a highboy! or go to the pub and order a club soda... and then douse each other with them all a-smiles.

WHY????????????? That would a) be boring to watch, 2) probably have nothing to do with the song, C) wouldn't impress me, IV) I can't think of anything else.

his videos are the shit and easily my favorite aspect of tool. don't fuck with a good thing, i say.

if tool broke up just to make you happy, youd have the whole shed comin' down around your ears.

I think we all know how good Tool's music videos are but just to confirm that, all you have to do is watch Marilyn Manson's new video "The Nobodies". For someone with a lot of cash and is known for trying to freak people out, this video is a poor attempt and has Tool written all over it.

Isac Khrondor
03-14-2005, 08:58 AM
All Mansons videos are simmilar to the Stinkfist video, all that cheesy in-and-out of focus and sudden jerky movement from the camera bullshit.

I think Tool should stick to the idea of never apearing in their videos, as it allways makes them seem more mysterious..
It would be cool if the videos had less clay stop-motion aliens that mean nothing to us, but something to Jones, I wanna see more stuff like Parabola - that video was way cool... ....

ARMZ
03-14-2005, 09:02 AM
I agree but the clay animation and alien stuff is fine with me, that is pretty much Tool's signature for videos.

I think Tool should stick to the idea of never apearing in their videos, as it allways makes them seem more mysterious.. Tool appeared in Hush and Sober. I'd like to see them more, actually, but not to the point where the whole video is just them being filmed while playing the song. I hate videos like that. Curse you pop/emo rock people! Even rap has relatively okay videos because they're not always "Look at me sing my song. Whoopee." (Although, for the record, I don't listen to/watch rap.)

You never know, Maynard might have been the male figure in Schism dressed up in all the makeup and shit.

5th Eye
03-14-2005, 09:45 AM
I don't know; it doesn't really look like him, facially structurewise. I think they're just some actors, like in Stinkfist; but they look oddly computer-generated at points.

ARMZ

Yea true, they do float and drift around. It might be those 2 who toured with them.

Uh..back to the topic..well..something uh, I would like to see Tool play around with different styles other than clayman stuff...I mean, it's good shit, but it sometimes seems like a little too much clay. When i saw the Weak And Powerless video, it was clearly different from Tool's style, but it was interesting, and seemed like a sort of direction that Tool may travel in...(don't get me started with the rest of APC's videos, I hate most of them,) But..my point is, I think Tool could do something different than clay, but still keep it as dark, mysterious and like the clay people videos...just...with out the clay people.

Yes, Alex Grey is very gifted not only in painting, but in CGI animation. What a guy.

so your point is that there's a person in every video.... not seeing how that makes them all the same, but it's your stupid ass concept.

shut up.

I wish they'd try something different for a change.

All there videos are different. Each one tells a story. Pay more attention to the way the large figure in Prison Sex treats the poor little broken doll, or the way tricky treats the creature with the bouncing face in Parabola.
There are similarities in technique and atmosphere but part of what makes Tool awesome is their variety in message and feeling.

I think a change of video would be good. Too much of the same becomes alike.

Hey Satans_Little_Helper, some dude called mARtYr really likes your av.

There are similarities in technique and atmosphere.. Which is what I tire of.. I know Tool have this whole thing with being dark and mysterious, and using claymation is like their 'signature' or whatever, but I'd really just wish they'd try something different for a change instead of the same rehashed formula everytime.

Tyson
03-21-2005, 12:18 AM
It's cheaper for Adam to do it.

UtUmNo1
03-21-2005, 12:20 AM
Yeah, cos they're all about the money.

Tyson
03-21-2005, 12:29 AM
Well it makes sense to cut costs when you're first starting out and there is nothing wrong with being self-sufficent.

And yes, I know the clip for Hush was directed by someone else, n3rds.

I hear they're all saving for their very own tropical islands. That way, Maynard will never have to deal with a fan again.
