Or what is APC did a TOOL cover....whoaHave you ever seen/heard their cover of Eulogy? I haven't. Maybe I should.

What APC songs would be worth of a Tool cover? Judith, maybe? Or Pet. An extreme, Toolized version of Pet. Yeah.

Why bother?

Do you honestly want Tool putting any covers at all on their new record? Its ridiculous.
They should (and probably will) save all that cover bullshit for live shows.

You know, on the second thought, this would never make sense...ever...in the history on the universe squared. How the hell would Maynard put a spin on something he's already written and sang?

I know. I know....It was a stupid question.

CladInShadows
02-28-2005, 02:13 PM
I don't think it was that stupid. I think we should explore this possibility further.

sike, you're a fucking moron.

smk4813
02-28-2005, 02:21 PM
I guess all in all, once I gave in some thought, I'd like to see TOOL do covers (during live shows, not on the new album) of "Magdalena" and "The Noose".

That would be kick ass.

CladInShadows
02-28-2005, 02:23 PM
I think they should cover "another brick in the wall" by korn

A SPELLING CONTEST!! Well, shit why didn't you say so? E-mail me your picture so that I can tape it to my couch and have something to fuck tonight.

Not a bad start, but that everyone's covered that song.
Everyone from Alice In Chains to KoRn to,....well..shit I think Judas Priest did a cover of that one as well.

02-28-2005, 02:28 PM
If they're going to do Pink Floyd they should do something like that isn't as commerical and as mainstream as DOSTM or The Wall.
They should do "Dogs" or "Echoes" or, damn, how about "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun"?

CladInShadows
02-28-2005, 02:29 PM
smk4813, look out. You obviously don't want to mess with him.

Now that I think more and more about it, "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" would be about the HUGEST thing ever! Think about the song. At least instrumently it fits with TOOL's soft mysticism. They would own that song.

CladInShadows
02-28-2005, 02:38 PM
did you just quote yourself?

smk4813
02-28-2005, 02:39 PM
This is getting better by the minute. What if they did "Astronomy Domine" or
"Interstellar Overdrive"? Some of the pyschedelic space rock stuff would be great for TOOL to cover.

smk4813
02-28-2005, 02:40 PM

Whoaa buddy, I apparently missed something along the way. A breif websearch shows they did cover that song live...wow.. so...wow.. hah, I have to somehow hear this...

EDIT: Yea, I did a little research at some APC forums, turns out it probably does not exist...but, who knows....

Sounds awesome.

5th Eye

I know. It's great. I got on it through my travel agent. It's like Kathy Lee Gifford's Carnival cruise line, just "toolised."Hey look, man, just because you spelled it different and didn't capitalize it doesn't mean it counts as infringement.

No they shouldn't.
Come on. You can't tell me that would be kick ass or at least a nice twist. What are your thoughts. Don't just say "No." Give me some reasons.

If TooL covers APC, I'd like to hear them cover The Package.

If they were to do ANY song, I'd really like to hear them cover White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane. Hopefully they'll load up on DMT when they do.

Wrong band.

03-06-2005, 01:38 PM
I'd like them to cover nothing, and write their own songs.

But it would be cool if they did some Pink Floyd songs, but I doubt Adam would be able to play any.

5th Eye
03-06-2005, 05:35 PM
I don't want them to do any covers. And if they do, they can put them on another obscure Salival-esque release.

I was at some record store showing my mate some Tool albums, all they had was Ænema and another one, a fucking new one!

This new one had me some what excited as I had never seen it before. The front had some form of a hologram on it and I was sure this was not Ænema because I had already seen a hologram for that version and this was completely different and new.

I told my mate that he should get both but I wanted this new one, with the hologram, so he bought Ænema and I bought this new album with this hologram on the front. It was last of the stock.

Then I woke up...It was a dream...I was fucking pissed off...I was without a new Tool album, and I had to go to the toilet...it was cold.

5th Eye
03-11-2005, 09:22 AM
You almost had me excited there.

5th Eye
03-11-2005, 09:31 AM
Yeah...those are fun. Especially since some people can't see them and stare for hours going, "What?"

Maybe there won't be a cover. It'll be a CD-R in a paper sleeve with "TOOL" written on it in Sharpie.

ARMZ
03-12-2005, 06:06 AM
But yeah, a hologram on the new tool album would be very cool. Maybe something like 'magic eye' or something.
Now that would be sweeeeet. One that open and closes and with some sort of color changing technology that when it gets hot it goes red and when it gets cold it turns blue.

Imagine the booklet had a short tune in it like one of those birthday cards, another useless thing but it would be a first, I think, for an album anyway.

Maybe there won't be a cover. It'll be a CD-R in a paper sleeve with "TOOL" written on it in Sharpie.
Simple yet amazing.

For the live show, maybe they could do Passenger, the song Maynard did with Deftones, with Justin singing Chino's parts.
