New thought.

I´ve always seen the song "lateralus" as an invitation to open your mind and (quote Lateralus)"to look through to these infinite possibilities." I mean the things that is hidden for your pshysical eye, but not less powerful than the visibel possibilities. This theory is being supported by an article i once read, after searching alta vista for information about the word lateralus. Th article claimed that lateralus was another word for Quabala, that is a system that descibes the nature of human thougts. Just like tarot. I will follow up on this but doesn´t have the time right now

I will now try analyse the parts of the lyrics i have an opinion about. so here it comes:

Black then white are all I see in my infancy.
red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.
lets me see.
- In the formerly mentioned article they connected these colours with the tarotcard "the magician." (don´t know if it means anything, but i thought i would mention it.)

As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn beyond the lines of reason.
- there is alot of things that we do not know of, much more than you think.

Push the envelope. Watch it bend.
- break out of your "thought-cage" and explore them.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
- Don´t know.

Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must
Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.
- it might be interesting.

Reaching out to embrace the random.

- just do it, i think it will be worth the risk.

I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to feel connected
enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired, to fathom the power,
to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,
- don´t know.

to swing on the spiral
of our divinity and still be a human.
-We will, nomatter how much power we get by openeing our minds, still stay human.(A bit thin I know)

With my feet upon the ground I lose myself
between the sounds and open wide to suck it in,
I feel it move across my skin.
- About the danger combined with exploring these "infinite possibilities."

I'm reaching up and reaching out,
I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.

And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.
- We will might accomplish great things.

Spiral out. Keep going, going...

This was only a suggestion, but i hope one will find it helpfull. I will probaly have chanced my view on the song in a short matter of time. And then will probaly find this analysis superficial and stupid, but this is how I view it right now.
I apologize for my spelling, but I am just a simple dane.
