My guess is that it will depend on when and where you purchase the album.

But what I do know?

I got it from Adam. He stopped by and was like hey kid I need money for an acid hit. Wanna buy a cd? Its tool, and that rhymes with cool."

Yeah, I'll admit it. I bit.

Download a Tool CD??? Blasphemer!!

Okay, so I downloaded Salival and had — HAD — a burned copy of Undertow for ages, but I bought it eventually...but still. Buy Tool CDs! Support them! Even though most of the cost doesn't go to them! DO IT NOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

Hell, half the fun in owning a tool cd is the visual art that comes with it.
ya, thats true...i guess that makes the cd more special than the music ;)

That was a rhetoric answer!!!!

Hehe. Nah. I don't think so. The music is just as important if not the most important in the package deal when you buy the CD. It's just now, with the ease of "music sharing", it's a bit more difficult for artists and distributors to find new ways of marketing their product. The music is always going to be available online for anyone to hear it but if the visual art on the album complements the music, you get a much brighter picture of what the artist originally had in mind, which makes the purchase of the CD that much more worthwhile

lemme c the cost of the next tool cd before abiding by the new principles ;)...
hehe. nyway. ur right. its not fair for the artists.....speaking about downloading songs and stuff....i remember of the blog i just though of .....like seinfeld wud do...
"Dowwwnloading songs is illegal!!! lemme put it this way..... THE ENTIRE CONCEPT OF INTERNET IS BASED ON DOWNLOADING!!!!!"....
hehe...might sound horrible when compared to seinfeld. but just thought how he wud say.....sounds funny....but..still.....ur right. ;)

Ænima wouldn't be half as cool without the lenticular case design. It makes me wonder what kind of cool stuff they're going to do with the new album.

Yep. The little overlays are cool, even though I still don't really understand them fully...

It's just a booklet that's made of paper and has pictures and words in it, sometimes I wish the bible had pictures in it...wait a sec, I don't read the fucking bible.

The booklets are cool and the whole thing about downloading I'm not totally against, I see it more as a stepping stone to purchasing something you may fall in love with. In today's society people seem to communicate more from a distance, Internet, mobile phones etc...so it can be a bit harder for people to get their personal message across about what they think of a certain group without looking into their eyes.

I have burned compilation cds of Tool(5 of them, wow!) to give to my friends who like rock in hope that they will love the music so much so that they go out and actually buy the album, it's not like they were going to buy it in the first place.

Even when you tell someone about a band that you love, they're not going to buy it straight away because they are happy with what they listen to, but if I can slowly wither away their defense on the subject with hints at how good I think Tool are and how mysterious they can be with all their humor, sarcasm and seriousness and then burn them a cd, then maybe they might realize that Tool are worth buying.

But like I said they had no interest in Tool what so ever until I had talked about them and said I would be happy to burn them a cd, but I also said that it might take some time to grow on you, just give it a chance.

Ill pay $20 for it. Who knows, maybe theyll release a dvd with it. Bump that up to at least $30.

You've lost me there, didn't Ned donate $50,000 to the Bibles for Belgians cause?

I like the sound of this beer you speak of, I can feel the fermentation taking place already.

...the whole thing about downloading I'm not totally against, I see it more as a stepping stone to purchasing something you may fall in love with...Okay yeah, that's definitely true. On several occasions I've downloaded CDs and liked them so much that I went out and bought them at a later date...like Undertow, to name one.

he's notorious for them....remember the "will tool's next album be emo?" one?!! lol

honestly, if tool's next cd cost $100; I'd laugh, go make sure the price was right, laugh again...then say "fuck"...then come back as soon as I had the money

Asshole, you paid too much for it. I downloaded it for free from the emule. Did you notice that this album sounds alot like Staind and Limp Bizkit and korn. Some songs are just like them, they remind me of the hits I heard back in 90`s by these artsist.

The price depends on how they package it. If it is just the CD, it will cost the same as most CDs, which is around $11.99. If they package it with the DVD, you would probably pay around $29.99 for both.

Most new CDs around here are between $16.99 and $18.99 (a huge ripoff). DVDs are even pricier...so if we're lucky, they'll package the DVD as a free bonus.
