I was thinking a section strictly devoted to reviewing/discussing cds other than tools releases would be a great idea.
What does everyone else think??

I think this belongs in the suggestion box. The general discussion is already the place many folks discuss new music.

yea i was going to put it in the suggestion box but i wanted to get everyone elses thoughts on the idea before i brought it there...i do see a lot of music discussion in the general section but wouldnt a section devoted strictly to music discussion help organize things a bit more? im mainly suggesting this because i generally like to discuss music here more than anything and if anyone else is the same way, it'd be easier to have another section rather than having to sift through such a broad range of other topics.

past the borderline is just side projects or tool related projects. im talking about a section for discussing and reviewing all kinds of stuff...

... that way we don't have 45 "List your cd's" threads and 192 "what do you guys think of this band" threads in Discussion.

Not a bad idea, but not sure how keen the powers that be would be on doing it.

if everyone who checks this thread says what they think of the idea it may push them to consider it a bit more so please post!

Like Riicek said, it would be a place for threads like this (http://toolshed.down.net/opinion/forum/showthread.php?t=13373), this (http://toolshed.down.net/opinion/forum/showthread.php?t=23095) and this (http://toolshed.down.net/opinion/forum/showthread.php?t=22903) (and maybe this (http://toolshed.down.net/opinion/forum/showthread.php?t=23028)?). IMHO, I think it's a good idea.
