Just a thought on drunk dad's....

I believe this song is about alcoholic fathers or mothers who mentally and probably physically abuse there kids. If you have a father or mother who is an alcoholic I think you will be able to relate to this as well. Parents are someone you look up to when your younger and most likely if your dad's a drunk and you follow his path in life(trust in him) you will fall as well. They're your parent when they are sober but then they abuse every aspect of you when they are drunk(i will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down). Did your dad or mom ever get drunk, abuse you in some way and then take off for the night(i will find a center in you, i will chew it up and leave)? Most alcoholics are liars and imbeciles anyways when they are drunk. And most of the parents I know want your trust in everyway(trust in me). When he says(why cant we drink forever) i think maybe he means that why cant we still get wasted and not have to beat our kids in some way. Does anyone know if Maynards dad was an alcoholic, cause that could explain alot? This could be abunch of bullshit but i think if you have or had an alcoholic parent you can relate.
