hopefully some of you have noticed in the news the claim that a human clone has been engineered. the company is called Clonaid and they are linked with the Raelian movement. ok, the media has been whining and making jokes by passing them off as a 'religious cult' or 'ufo cult', in effect tacking on all the negative connotations that the word 'cult' comes with. i just wanted to maybe start some discussion on this topic (i didn't know where else to put this) and see what people think about whats going on with this. after reading about the Raelians, their beliefs pretty much line up with a lot of stuff tool has been 'hinting' at over the years:

i guess i want to hear people's opinions both on whether or not we should take these people serioulsy and what you think about the ethics of cloning humans.

i'm skeptical of their claims simply because they haven't shown anything yet. i read the website and watched the video on the cloning procedure, and i may have discovered something to raise some questions... at 2:54 in the video, when the woman is talking about the RMX2010 fusion device they say they have invented, it shows a picture of the output of this machine. however, on the picture they use depicting a square wave, there are oriental characters all along the side of it. if these people invented this thing, why is it in chinese?

right before 2:54, as it is showing the actual machine, their web address www.clonaid.com is being advertised on its yellow body. that seems strange to me that they would advertise their site within their own lab... more evidence that there's something fishy about all of that?

it's a hoax, pending evidence.
