if only there were just one god
if only there were one more life
if only there were graciousness
if only there were caution
if only there were just one god

Become a monk... perhaps that will help you in your dilemma.

I'm being serious, not making fun. Buddhism is a good basis to understand "why can't things just stop sucking?"

I like DonBrazi's point...
I used to be a total atheist, i wasn't raised around any kind of religion. It was a long time before I even realized that people BELIEVED that people like Jesus existed, and that God existed. One day it just hit me, that for some people, spirituality is as tangible as anything else. It was then that I really began considering my own spiritualality. Until that point I assumed everything to be random events, things occuring simply because all the correct conditions existed for them to take place. Now I considered my own convictions. Who's to say religion is right? Who's to say science is right? Some thruths we take for granted in science rely on faith (maybe even ignorance), and the same can be said for religion..
