Lateralus is different from the start to the finish, much like an acidtrip.
when i first listened to it i was amazed! it described everything and nothing in my life, and inside me. Maynard's got a way of expressing himself in the song that inspires me to look outward. i first started 'looking outward' when i lost faith in religion, and hearing someone who shares my respect for life gives me hope that (as mentioned in parabola) all this pain, really is, an illusion.
