In my honest opinion. I think maynard left the song open to many different interpretations. As for his true meaning behind it, i don't know. For me though, I see the song as meaning that it's hard to let go of things you love. Many people probably think the same about it. I know I do. I love this song to death. I saw them play it in San Antonio and cried when i heard it. It reminded me of so many things and brought out so many emotions i held back. People stared at me and i just kept singing along. The song applies to so many things in my life, it's hard to tie it down to one meaning. It probably is for everyone. I see nothing wrong with it though cause, its just one mans opinion. I love this song. Everything about the song is beautiful. And for those that have seen Tool play H. live, I'm pretty sure the hold the same emotions i share about the song. It truly was the highlight of the show for me. No other concert has compared up to it. Not one..
