"It is thus necessary that the individual should come to realize that his own ego is of no importance in comparison with the existence of his nation; that the position of the individual ego is conditioned solely by the interests of the nation as a whole ... that above all the unity of a nation's spirit and will are worth far more than the freedom of the spirit and will of an individual. .... This state of mind, which subordinates the interests of the ego to the conservation of the community, is really the first premise for every truly human culture .... we understand only the individual's capacity to make sacrifices for the community, for his fellow man."

They're worded similarly, but the meanings are literally not similar in any way.

Hitler, while trying to gain as much undying power that he possibly can, spoke very strongly and such to break down the will and desire and self-assuredness of every member of the listening society.

Whereas Maynard is talking about a metaphysical embodiement of all conciousness. Generally when talkinga bout metaphysics, astral plane, and all that kind of shit the ego basically means the physical self.

Oh yeah, harp on the typo. nyah.

Try reading it without reminding yourself it's Hitler's words. I think it can be parallelled -- crucify the ego to aid the general welfare.

Well could you explain why you see the relationship a little more? See, you just put a quote down so people could try to figure out YOUR opinion by ourselves...and that's hard for us lazy people.
