"there's no love in fear"
it's a complicated situation.
i had been a jehovah's witness all my life until i was 16 and then i opened my eyes and thought for myself and decided that i didn't believe in what they were telling me. so i stopped going.
i still smile when it's necessary and it has been twice. the reasons varied. the last smile was this past sunday and this was read:
1 john 4:18 - there is no fear in love, but perfect love throws fear outside because fear exercises a restraint. indeed, he that is under fear has not been made perfect in love.
i don't believe in the bible being inspired by god and i realized while smiling that i don't believe in god. this guy or guys or whoever wrote this book is closely related to this statement. it was during a discussion about having a balance of fear in god along with love.
it's impossible to fear someone and love them as well as maynard states. and so does this.
in a side note, i don't recommend smiling.
