Mushrooms and Maynard

In responce to Alexboche's post I have a question. If Maynard stopped shrooming a while ago how come Lateralus didn't come out back when he stopped. This album is highly influenced by psychedelic(s)and it is obvious. I think he might use them to imagine a complexity for his next album. Any thoughts?
