I figured out what mantra is. its apparently a prayer or something you say during a prayer for hope and stuff.

Dictionary.com defines it to be

Hinduism. A sacred verbal formula repeated in prayer, meditation, or incantation, such as an invocation of a god, a magic spell, or a syllable or portion of scripture containing mystical potentialities.

The mantra is a technique used in meditation, usually to transcend beyond the waking/ sleeping/ dreaming state. The vibration of the mantra is supposed to help clear your mind during meditation. Some common mantra are Om, Om Ah and the most well known is the great mantra of Tibet, Om Mani Peme Hung.

It's basically just a word you say a lot to relax yourself... Mantra in this 'context' might mean that's what, at least, somebody uses to relax? or maybe their center?

A mantra is used in meditation, yes, however the mantras used all go along with certain chakras. For those who do not know, chakras are the energy centers in our bodies. Everyone has seven major chakras located in the same location. These chakras are what give your ethereal energy to function. Without exercised charkas, OOBE and Astrial Projection are next to impossible.

These are the seven major chakras and where their locations.

1) Base Chakra – where your tailbone is, in the entirety of that region.
2) Spleen Chakra – slightly above your penis/vagina.
3) Solar Plexus Chakra – The region your abs are in.
4) Heart Chakra – Where your heart is.
5) Throat Chakra – The lower section of your throat.
6) Brow Chakra – In between your eyebrows.
7) Crown Chakra – Your entire natural hairline for the most part.

Each chakra has it’s own mantra, but your have to find your own mantra.

so the noise that is projected in that song is similar to what u would hear in this type of meditation? and since this song is before schism, and after the patient, would the placement of this song, be of any meaning, of why maynard chose to meditate?
please post your thoughts

I read some time ago, that the song is one of the members (Justin I think) blowing in some tube. Not just a random tube, but a certain musical one, not sure.

mantra could symbolize maynards opening in order to experience the thought process of schism... it becomes apparent that in schism (maynard/the band) is viewing the akashic records in order to know the pieces fit and to have watched them fall away. This could be easilly explained as an out of body experience in which you are only a projected double of yourself or a "reflection" and are able to travel and access many new aspects or dimensions of reality due to the lack of input from a body (reality filter)

Sounds familiar, but couldn't tell you for sure. And I agree with you on the schism intro. To the video, it also uses Mantra in the opening of it.

No I don't think it's a digeridoo but it could be slowed down a fuckload.

One of the ideas behind any mantra, is that the user gets very used to it. After becoming very familiar with a mantra it allows the mind to drop deeper into itself. This kind of thing is not limited to eastern thinking, as it can be found in any of the very ritualized church (example: catholic).

I was sifting through the lyrics of this entire cd, and I realized maynard uses a very minimal amount of tangible nouns. Such as bridges, trees, cats, etc. A simple funfact I just discovered.

I agree, they used more in earlier albums, gradually used less and less of them; they are still there tho.

I heard somewhere maynard recorded a sound of his cat, and fucked around with it in the studio. Who knows. And im not going to think to much about what made the track anyways. It adds to the atmosphere of the album (like Useful Idiot) and if i knew what it was, then the mysterie of it would be ruined and I will bet you maynard would laugh at all of you that I will not enjoy it as much!

damiana is obtained at any health food store. It's a slight stimulant, hallucinogenic and aphrodesiac.

I dont like what it does to my heart but I can fuck like a rabbit after I've smoked it.
