Can anyone tell me what stringed instrument is being played in that beautiful song by the Smashing Pumpkins?
I think it's a harp, but i suck at identifying instruments.

i doubt it's a harp...a lot of tabs have a guitar with a capo on the fifth fret...it may just be a guitar (or similar instrument) with some effects on it...that's my best guess anyway...

actually...scratch that...I found a decent tab that had it in standard tuning...but MC&IS id meant to be mostly in Eb...perhaps the tab is a guitar tab for another instrument...but it sounds fine...I guess I haven't helped you at all then...LOL...but I do only hear one string instrument...I'm pretty sure it's guitar, though I can't prove it or tell you why I think that....

EDIT: And I'm sure it's not a harp...harps are usually picked with one finger per string...and the strings are arranged from A, Bb, B, C... etc... given the range of notes in those chords, you probably wouldn't be able to play those chords...

I believe it's synth. My guess would be synth harp, in fact. And yes it is in flats.
