yea sry, im kinda new to this posting thing, i should have put this in the 46&2 section xD. o well thx for not biting of my head. i'd really like to know what he means...i thought it wuz something like counting this "shadow" as himself, that makes 2, then doubling his age...but maynard goes back in teh 60's or w/e....im a new tool fan dont mind meh. =)

here man, i figure its like this:
his shadow, always lurking in the corner of his eye, your shadow is invisable, eternal and so forth. 46&2 is a referance to a higher consiousness, for example, humans are born with two sets of 44 cromosomes, and as some have commented on the 46&2 board, 46&2 would give the consiousness of Jesus, Budah, etc. i get the idea, but this doesnt make sense, because some grasses have sets of 112 cromosomes..but anyway, the idea of the song is that he is going under this metaphoric journey, he has been crawling to advance to this higher level. its just ahead..just out of reach

i think that he means after taking a look at himself from the inside out then the change of adding to chromosomes is within grasp.

whoever said that wasnt a scientist.

all primates have a 46&2 chromosome setup. humans differ from primates because we have a 44&2 chromosome setup. chromosomes dont just show up or disappear.

what it means is that 22 of those sets are normal sets. the 23rd set determines sex. hence 44&2
