I have a choice, right now:
I can go take my flanger/chorus pedal, and trade it in (getting 15$ off) for a BOSS flanger.
OR
I can go buy a boss phaser pedal.
I would use both, mostly just opinions needed.
Thanks!
EDIT:
OK another Q: I am buying (not just hoping to get, am going to) a Shure SM-58 vocal mic.
(A) Does anyone know a vocal mic that performs equally as well for less?
(B) Does it need a phantom power adapter, if so, how much are those?

how much better is the boss flanger than the chorus/flanger you have now?

OK after some time, I went and bought:
A sehnheiser e835 mic (which I have the reciept in case it doesn't perform as well as its Shure equivalent, the SM-58) because this one has a 10 year warranty on it, and a larger frequency response (which I didn't know till later)
And a Boss Flanger, which, I am never going to sell.

Alright after three days of getting the goddamn mic to work, it does now, and I am very happy with it. It catches every nuance of my cold well.
The flanger is great fun, I'm still having fun with it.
Now I wonder what to buy, because, I am truly getting bored with bass. I need another instrument to up my musical abilities.
Debating between guitar and drums:
Disadvantage to guitar: I already know a lot about it because of my time with bass, so it won't take nearly as long for me to get bored with it.
Disadvantage to drums: I need some way to soundproof the room they'd be in, or a volume knob, which means good electrics, or soundproofing as well.
Suggestions? I know about guitar hardware, but I don't know much about drums.

Plug a left ear phone into your computer and use it as a mic.

get a boss flange/chorus pedal
if you want a cheaper sm-58 you could always try the Shure pg series where all the model names correspond with the sm, just that sm is replaced with pg. I got PG's on my drumset and they sound awesome, but i guess the power of the magnet produces more output on the sm 58 and theres more clarity, but i don't really notice it. the pg's are the mexican-made sm's, but i trust the mexicans
for vocal mics i have a beta 58a, which is like a super sm-58, just with a *gasp* even more powerful neodymium magnet for clarity. that DOES have a noticeable difference
i am a huge nerd

Alright, well, I bought the Sehnheiser e835, and it works really well (check out my singing q's thread, have a clip of me singing in there.
I bought the Boss Flanger, I love it. I use every function on that thing, and I need someone to just fiddle with the damn knobs on it.

Take it youve realised by now that you dont need phantom power for an SM58 (or equiv).
Phantom power is only for condenser mics (eg AKG C1000S)
