So im just learning now, may take lessons soon. But I want to start off with a book (electric guitar) I got an old ibanez simar(sp?) and Whats a good book for learning basic things, and how to play some riffs or whatever the fuck they do. not too pricey ones either. thanks

I'd find two books actually.

Guitar Grimoire - Book 1 - Scales and Modes

and any good technique book. Just be sure it covers right hand harmonic techniques with a pick, alternate plucking styles, fingerplaying, left hand mutes, bends, both styles of vibrato, hammerons and pulloffs, and where the notes on the guitar are in relation to where they are on the staff.
