I did not get involved with Tool until the very late 90's so I never had the priveleged of seeing Danny's old set first hand. I have seen pictures of it however and i'm fascinated with the symbol on his bass drums. It seems to be based off of an 8 point star and octagon. Does anyone know what this symbol could represent and why it is of significance to the Danny?

It is a type of geometrical figure called a hypercube, more specifically a tesseract.
