Well, basically my point of view after much deliberating is this. The cause of Stinkfist is the reason for Tool. You see all the heart all of the mind and the coils of the soul push to be heard, everyday. This "boredom" we reach from this is sometimes overwhelming and this first line is meerly saying that something must be found to conquer this and this is why "he wouldn't have it no other way". And in creating a hole to jump into he created more, but "It is not enough" and he needs more to know that he is needed.
"I can help you change" would seem to mean that this boredom we share is known and their is a need to explore this feeling, any way we can. and by putting this "finger deep within the border line" he is merely dabbing in his work and in turn he says, "turn around and take my hand". And in taking his hand he would have tried to help us out.
But, it is not enough still and there is more needed to get this feeling satisfied and this is where "Desensitized to everthing" comes in. We will have searched through soo many different levels of consciousness within ourselves that something else from another form of stimulation occurs, causing boredom to corrupt itself into something manipulatable and worthy of being boring.
The common perception of fisting someone to find a wall would be obsurd at this point. a whole arm is not enough, is the attention that is needed to "stimulate our senses" just the way he would like us to feel, under-amused but over-joyed at the fact of once again defeating boredom in one of its many most subtle ways.
That is my thought of "Stinkfist" all be it long and complicated, I enjoy the song more than my amusing outline, but what the hell might as well put my point of view out there, huh. i just hope i mentioned one of the finer points of getting your "Fist Stinky". HAA!! Guess i did huh, laters, i would love to hear someone with the same point of view.
