I need some info on the damn things.
Does anyone here play one? Any brands that are recommended? I don't know anyone who has one, and i've only held one to smack out some quick power chords on one time...i don't see too many at guitar shops. so yeah...anyone?

Alright, find a large guitar store that lets you try out their gear. They should have one, maybe two.

They're hard to sell, hence, not very easily stocked.

Ibanez makes good ones.

the Ibanez Universe is their 7 string (what Korn uses).

if you are looking for a bassier sound you should also consider a baritone guitar or just buying some extra heavy gague strings and tuning your stuff to BEADGB to get used to having that B on the low string. i play on heavy jazz strings and tune to BEADF#B (akin to standard E) and i've enjoyed it.

but i'm starting to miss standard E =(
