CLIP INSIDE: Cover of 3 Libras (acoustic)

Here is a cover of 3 Libras I recorded a year or so ago with my friend Mellisa. There is a little bit of cliping toward the end and there are a few mistakes, but we did it in one take at about 4 in the morning, so what do you expect? heheh

You may have to turn down your treble or tone control on your speakers because there is some backround static and it will just plain sound better damnit.

What do you all think?

Thanks!! Yeah, her voice sounds....very Ummm...mature. I don't know how to describe it.

I rearranged most of the song on a whim that night after we tried to work out a few songs that ended up being a waste of time. So I suggested we try 3 Libras. We did it on the first take and called it a night.

It was pretty simple. It was all just variations on C and G chords transposed up and down the fretboard.

well personally I liked her voice but it sounded kinda..... I dunno... like it could stand to be improved a lot... kinda.... umm.... i dunno... amateur? It was good, kinda sounded a bit forced, and such.. I'm not really sure how to put into words what exactly it is that I didn't like about it...

But overall, it was pretty cool.... I wish she would have done the "mmmmmmmmmmmmmm too much frommmmnnnnmn the wounded" how maynard does that thing he does.

Well, it was amateur. That was our first recording ever and it was done in one take without practice at all and she didn't know the song.

I don't think she did the "mmmmm" thing because she isn't Maynard. But it would have been a nice touch.

I would, but I sold my acoustic a while ago to pay for an amp. And she's in Connecticut and I'm in New York.

Maybe one day........the two best musicians in the world will reunite for a grand tour. hahaha

LOL, I found it funny, I heard her laughing, kinda cool!

She sounds funny to me, because she had this... I dunno, low voice inside a high voice, hard to explain.
Like an accent.

Yeh, that was a really good cover!
The recording quality sounds really good through my sterio, better than I could do off my amatuer recording setup. I liked it, and she has a very nice voice.

I used a Taylor 410-CE acoustic/electric. I think I used an AKG mic. of some sort, as well as the piezo pickup from the acoustic and balanced them out into 2 tracks.

We used an Akai 10 or 16 track digital mixer of somesort (not exactly pro quality...). But thanks for the comments.

As for the song itself...I think it was pretty damn good. And your friend there also has a great voice.
