Bass vs. Guitar for this intro

I have this intro to a song, and I'm not sure which sounds better, the bass, or guitar.

I think the first 40 seconds sounds best with bass. I don't know if the whole thing is meant as an intro, but I would have the guitar come in at about 1:02, and overlap the bass line, or play chords over it. My opinion, anyway.

yeah, i wasn't really sure where i wanted the intro to stop, but your suggestions sounds pretty good

I believe that the rest of the song is what the intro should depend on... but i personaly think that it sounds better on guitar than bass...
Suggestions:
Maybe put delay on guitar or some sort of effect

Have the bass come in with a little distortion

Drums come in lightly and with a bongo kind-of sound

sounds good, i play tablas, so yeah. I'm a one man band, and i don't play set, so i'll have to rely on the tablas for the bongo sound.
