I'm sure lots of people know this but maybe some do not. In the song Maynard says " A child's rhyme stuck in my head. It said that life is but a dream." and " Singing one familiar song." He is talking about row, row, row your boat. At the beginning of the song they put Bill Hicks in saying, "Today a young man on acid realized... life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves."

Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
"Life is but a dream."
