93,
"Saturn comes back around to show you everything
Let's you choose what you will not see and then
Drags you down like a stone or lifts you up again
Spits you out like a child, light and innocent."

This is talking about Saturn return, which occurs when saturn has made a full rotation around the sun, and returns to the spot it was in when you were born. From an astrological perspective, it occurs rougly every 27-29 years and is supposed to indicate major changes to your life. At approx. 28 years old, you reach the concept of "adulthead" where you must analyze everything that has happened with your life thus far. Did you choose the right career path? Are you making the right decisions? At about this stage is when you start to consider your own mortality and start living much more wisely (or not).

"Drags you down like a stone or lifts you up again"
Being dragged down like a stone means the person didnt start living wisely considering their own mortality. Eventually they reach a crisis.

"or lifts you up again"
You've made the right decisions concerning your career choices thus far, and things start to look up for you once you hit maturity.

Saturn return occurs at around the age of 28, the age of 56-60(you start getting older and obtain maturity about previous life experiences, or you deny your age and try to relive your past), age 85-90 (old age).

"Spits you out like a child, light and innocent."
Did you make the right decisions? No? Oops your life situation is going to fall like a rock. Indeed, 30 is the age where you start thinking about that divorce....

"Saturn ascends, the one, the ten."
One is kether on the tree of life. It is spiritual union, it is a point. It is perfection., and indicates enlightenment. 10 is malkuth or the physical plane. In the Golden Dawn and the AA (depending on the lineage), crowleys order, when you rise up in the tree of life, you can fall back to malkuth due to actions that are particularly malkuthian. A fruit that falls from a tree can't be reattached. Malkuth is the physical world and not enlightenment.

"Wear the grudge like a crown of negativity.
Calculate what we will or will not tolerate.
Desperate to control all and everything.
Unable to forgive your scarlet lettermen."
Maynard is pissed off at someone he knows because the person he knows is fucking up. There are relationship problems (adulterer - scarlet letterman), and the person he knows is approaching it the wrong way because of bad choices, which he has to review on his saturn return. This person maynard knows or hypothesizes about is holding a grudge that doesnt make sense , and is going to "fail" his saturn return.

This is reinforced by the following lines :

Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control.
Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper.
Sinking deeper = falling on the tree of life back to malkuth. The physical grudges are making him "fall" , spiritually.

"Saturn comes back around. Lifts you up like a child or
Drags you down like a stone
To consume you till you choose to let this go."
Maynard is telling his friend or character that he needs to let go of his problems before movign on. The stone is malkuth. Saturn is coming around to fuck this person because he made bad life decisions. This person must realize his mistakes and move on.

Give away the stone.
Let the oceans take and trans mutate this cold and fated anchor.
Give away the stone.
Let the waters kiss and trans mutate these leaden grudges into gold.
Let go.
The leaden stone and the gold are without a doubt referring to the alchemical concepts of lead and gold (spiritual gold, not physical gold). In alchemy your problems and inperfects weigh you down to Malkuth like lead. You must get rid of the imperfections to be able to rise up to kether, enlightenment, or spiritual gold.

Maynards character here must give up the problems he has with his lover and move on to make something of himself, or he is going nowhere spiritually.

Cheers.

From a spiritual point of view I believe this song is about clinging to the tendencies of the animalistic self. Not allowing yourself too evolve and come into contact with the divine mind within. You 'clutch' to your selfish individuality as if it is going to save you and create a 'prison cell' out of your own body.
Choosing one or ten, i agree, is choosing to head towards spiritual evolution or stay mired in the illusion of the material. Clinging to the material sinks you deeper and deeper into the unreality of illusion. You will sink like a stone until you let go of your fearful attachment to the material world. Only then will you be lifted up like a child with its innocent open eyes letting all things flow as they will.
At the end of the song Maynard does indeed refer to the alchemy of the self. Let go of the lead of the animalistic self, find peace, ascend and become one with the gold of the divine mind (the bridge to the soul).
