i dont think this song is about fisting and i dont think many tool fans really do either. i dont remember what convinced me but i always interpreted this song as like, a warning. the character hes singing as clearly has addiction issues and its becoming more and more difficult for him to reach euphoria.
so maybe its just about raising your standards of enjoyment, kind of. the more you do something, the less value it has, the harder it becomes to enjoy anything else.
i dont know. someone probably already said this shit.
