Just to know that TooL is, although so emotionally everywhere in there songs and almost always seeming serious in their music, quite funny. And just... human. Like, sometimes, it's really easy to stick them up on this pedastle and make them out to be Gods!!, but really, they aren't. And I think fun and goofy songs like this just remind me of that. I wonder if James really has a good sense of humor.... probably, who else would write a song about their penis? Good ole TooL

Yeah, I totally agree with you... There are these people who say "Man, those Tool guys are gods or something", and I don't know what you believe in, but I don't believe in gods of any religion, and neither I believe that Tool members are gods. People should just realize that the gift of musical talent doesn't automatically [or any other way] make you a god or other supernatural or paranormal creature. Those Tool guys are human. Hell yeah, they're totally amazing when it comes to their musical delivery, but in real life... they're nothing more than humans.
for example, read this:
AA: I was reading something that Fred Durst said…
MJK: Why would you do that?
AA: (laughing) He said, “Tool is probably the best band on the planet. There’s something wrong with those guys-they’re too good.”
MJK: Sounds like something a fuckin’ stoned kid at a fuckin’ monster truck rally would say. Let’s talk about somebody else.
AA: There’s more…
MJK: It’s like getting an endorsement from the woman who serves jello in the fuckin’ high school food line. It doesn’t mean anything. Just ‘cause she won the lottery doesn’t mean you have to listen to what she says.
AA: He also said, “They know something the rest of the world doesn’t know.”
MJK: That’s not true, either. We don’t know anything that can’t be learned. If we had some secret we’d certainly be fuckin’ millionaires by now-and we’re not.

That interview is great. Fred Durst's opinion doesn't mean shit to anyone. Unless, of course, you're Fred Durst's mom.

i agree that their not gods, but that dosn't mean you can't look up to them. just don't get too caried away with it...keep your feet on the ground...(lateralus?)...there's a lot of good advice in their music. and, i'm sorry, but if you put that much feeling into it and make it sound like not only the singer but the entire band truly belives in the message that's being sent, you're going to get some recognition wether you like it or not. especialy if you one of the only bands around that care enough to do it. i respect tool a lot for what they do, but i understand too that they are only human.

I believe they're not millionaires. Think about it. The majority of money that bands (and record labels) make are not from album sales, but from marketing. Which Tool hardly participates in. Because they don't get played on the radio and MTV, because they don't do MTV's Spring Break in Botswana, and because their tours are not sponsered by Coke, the record label probably takes a pretty healthy fucking chunk of ticket and album sales, cause they're gonna get their money no matter what.

how much does it cost to have a geologist come and take a look at the soil on a huge plot of land you just bought to test for prime Vineyard conditions, and then put in the vineyard itself?

A principle reason as to why people view Tool in a godly manner I believe is because they can do something the individual revering them as a god can't. Simply because one has the ability to do something that you can't do doesn't render them in anyway a god. Though I know the premise for my argument is shallow, it's merely an aspect of one's thoughts...

Of course they are Millionaires, or Zillionaires. They must be one of the wealthiest bands in the world. That's just what's so funny about the statement...

to actually believe that these fellas aren't millionaires is laughable.
i would like to just make the taxes that they pay for that year. Maynard could wipe his ass with one dollar bills if he wanted. so, on that note, i wonder how that would alter his writing and his content that he chooses to write about. Notice that the intial albums had more of a suffering overtone to them, and now it seems that they are more about enlightenment.
could be they're happy they're not broke.
far from broke, i'd imagine
