"Schism" is not a metaphor. The Schism was an event that happened in the metaphysical universe more than thirteen thousand years ago, and it's application here in the physical is what history calls "The Deluge". Prior to the deluge, we all spoke the same language: telepathy. Language was given to us in the "Tower of Babel" incident, to keep us from communicating en masse. Why would "the gods" (Anunnaki/Elohim/Nephilim) want us to be unable to communicate? Self preservation. The Anunnaki were constantly at war with each other over dominance (just as they still are to this very day).
Marduk was well on his way to becoming the "supreme god" of the Anunnaki, and when he wanted to build his own launch pad (the Tower of Babel, just like the one at Kennedy) he enlisted the labor of slaves who had previously been loyal to other "gods", but now recognized the supremacy of Marduk. To prevent Marduk from having his own launch pad and stall his rise to power, his rivals blew up the tower, and gave their individual clans of subjects different languages, keeping them loyal to their "gods" as now they could not communicate with anyone else.
If you think that sounds crazy, it was certainly not the only such incident. Later on, Marduk(also called Ra in Egypt) became known to the Hoovids (Hebrews) as Yahweh. To get even with his rivals, Marduk/Yahweh brought Abram(ham) the sumerian out of Ur and charged him with delivering a container with a glowing metal inside (a nuclear device) to the Anunnaki spaceport that resided where, after it's nuclear destruction, the city of Jerusalem was later built. The fallout from the explosion was caught by the eastern blowing winds that brought it directly into the path of Ur, thus becoming the "evil wind" that killed the entire population of Ur but left every single structure completely intact.
