seriously, in the socialize forums 3 of every 5 threads is "god this" and "bible that." Is it possible to find another home for all of that? I have no beef with anything religious, I'm just sick of seeing it constantly.

Brilliant, in my opinion.

I would suggest a "Philosophy" section, so it could enclose not only religious topics, but political and scientific ones as well.

yeah... philosophy would be good. If anyone wants to make one of their giant posts about some deep issue it could be put a seperate forum, where i could go when im more open-minded (read: have more time on my hands).

the forums dont mean a thing to me.. i just search for new posts since my last visit..

but i do think that a there should be a section for religion, and one for politics..

philosophy encompasses both, and many other things as well, so im thinking that should be left out..

the idea isnt bad, a philosophy section would be good but it wont eliminate the "god" or "bible" talk (not that it bothers me) because it relates to so many songs in the eyes of heaps of people.

i havent really put forward an opinion on the topic have i? i dont know - sounds like heaps of people are for it so why not?

I'm for it. It would be a hell of a lot more usefull than the Polls forum and the Past the Borderline forum.

Seriously, no. Even though I'd like the Religion threads to stay the fuck out of Socialize because they will rid us of the stupidity, does a religion forum have its place on a Tool site? Clearly no. Besides the whole idea is ridiculous. There are a lot of dumb religion thread, so we should have a religion forum? Why not a drugs forum or a one liner threads forum or a thread within a thread within a thread forum (I'm talking about the "tdn jumps the shark for '...'" threads and equivalents... who is dumb enough?).

The whole idea just fucks me up.

why not instead of a religion forum, a spirituality/philosophy forum(s)? That does seem more tool-ish.
