HELL YES!! That was an amazing show, opened with 3rd Eye, closed with AEnema. Also: Lateralus, The Pot, The Patient, Stinkfist, Schism, Intolerance, Intention, Vicarios, Jambi... Not necessarily in that order. So, so good!

Welp. I ummm... searching for words here.... nope! Got none! I am officially speechless.
I guess I should say I did look for some TDN folks but to no avail. Hope you guys had fun! I'll see if I can come up with something else to say later. I'm not even tired it's just... yea...

Just got back from the show...
I was blindsided by the band tonight...never expected The Pot!!
Highlights were EBA/The Patient, Pot, Intolerance and Lateralus was once again, the ****!!
Bought the poster for 30 pesos, all in all, I am losing my hearing but well worth it! :)

They transposed the Pot down a whole step at least and changed the key of the song to accommodate Maynard btw. Not a huge deal. But it did make the song sound a bit deeper than it has in the past when I have seen it. MJK gave his all in it. He really belted it out, probably feeling a little more comfortable in the slightly altered register.

The political savvy types...... The Film Actors Guild. Ha ha ha! So true. And what about poor Lindsay Lohan?! Sorry no sympathy tears from us. Great show tonight. Heard some tracks that I have never heard them play before in the 14 other times I have seen them. No need for me to post the setlist. Everone else will. Ha ha! The crowd actually seemed like they were paying attention for once. Still though there were some jocko-homos about. All in all... a great experience... again.

Yes, that is the summation of the night. "I could die happy." Somewhat. Lamented over and over about what would actually make me drop dead at a Tool show: pushit
ANYWAY-----
Full Intension!!!! I jammed as fast as I could back from the rest room(post 48 oz beer, already). What an epic treat insofar, right. No.....it gets better!
Aside from nailing every essense of the songs on tonight's set list; we were surprised with THE POT! Was not expecting that in the least. Was 100% ready (and happy) to hear the repeated standarized set list for this tour.
I just wish that when maynard said "this one's for you" after Aenima, that they would have busted into the true 'encore.'
So this wraps up Tool's tour for now. READ UP GUYS(the band): I seriously can not wait until the alleged new album. I will not ever get enought of this band live.
BTW: Dalek < Justin Bieber

Unfortunately, I spoiled The Pot for myself because I was able to get a peep at the Setlist before the show, one of the security guards had his backstage pass paper thing printed on the back of the setlist. When I saw it I shit bricks. The guy also saved me the setlist for the end of the night and gave me it :D
What can I say about the show? Maynard was in a great mood!
Maynardism after Third Eye: "Its ok, Im a cop....uhh thats all I got, sorry" Of course he was dressed in his cop uniform and during the intermission he changed into a cowboy outfit.
I had the privilege of meeting Alex Grey and having him sign my ticket, but I must admit, the thing that stole the night for me was meeting fucking TOM MORELLO outside of the Nokia and taking a picture with him!
Amazing night, amazing show. Ill never forget it

You lucky S.O.B.
I am soooo jealous.
What else can be said that hasn't already. Indeed an amazing show.
You know whats funny. Right before the doors opened, I was chatting with a some guys who had never seen Tool live. They asked me if I thought they would play The Pot tonight and I told them "I didn't think so". Well jokes on me.
The hi-light for me was Intolerance. Have always wanted to hear that one live! Followed by Intension which would mean I have now heard all the songs off of 10,000 Days live.
Again, awesome show and I can't wait till the next Tool show. 2011??? 2012??? 2013???

My eighth show and definitely #2. Sorry, boys, but it's hard to top the Halloween show in San Diego 2001 complete with "Pushit", my favorite song along with Lateralus.
But tonight was magical. Brilliant from start to finish. Maynard's vocals (change in key notwithstanding) were beautiful, Adam was free-flowing with real emotion, and Justin & Danny are absolute BEASTS. Everyone was stellar, but lest I forget...
The visuals.
By far the most extravagant, gorgeous, conceptually-aligned (but not bloated), lighting I have seen at a concert ever. Everything matched the music in such a perfect fashion that the 3 newbies I was with watched the entire show with jaws on the floor. Stunning.
This band continues to amaze me and will for the rest of my life and my children's lives. I can only hope that they continue to have the desire and fuel to continue to make magic so my kids can see this at some point!
And FYI for anyone who feels at all slighted by Maynard's wine venture, feeling that he cares more about his wine than Tool at this point, much less that it's "weird", etc. It's time to enjoy the truth: The man will continue to both make music and wine because they are his passion, and as such he has made them dependent on one another. One will not exist without the other for him simply because they ARE him.
To conclude: You want more Tool records, more Tool music, more Tool LIVE? Get off the Bud Light and learn about the blood, sweat, and absolute beauty of wine. Read a tad bit about what actual FARMERS have to do to create this lovely liquid, and how difficult it is for them to find a way through mindless bureaucracy and a saturated market to create something new. Then help give a new venture a chance and buy some Caduceus juice!
Bravo, Tool. Goodnight.

This marks my 17th show dating back to 1994 and like always this one was amazing .... What I enjoyed most was having my 7yr old son with me .... He rocked his ass off singing along with Maynard every step of the way..
It was really nice to intolerance and the whole speach about back to te future.... Ya had to be there to understand...

It's hard to put into words but I loved the performance, sound & visuals. I suppose I'm getting old and the Opiate songs as well as many Undertow songs will rarely be performed again but I still hold onto those memories from the 90's.
I enjoy the fact that they simply perform their music without many antics or political speeches. I get lost in the songs and there are moments where I feel as if I am watching them perform in my garage among friends. In a way that's exactly what it is.

Awe-fuckin-some!
These were the best seats I've had at a Tool show and the sound was amazing! It even sounded louder than last night. Had a clear line of site at Danny all night...fuckin epic.
I believe we heard some new stuff...sorta ambient-y stuff between songs
The only negatives were the bitches a couple rows in front of us that kept flashing pics...of themselves! so the flash was blinding everyone behind them...like more than 10 times in a row I shit you not...I had to finally say something to get em to stop.
Also, Dalek on Lateralus was no good...totally took me out of it...Danny saved it for me though as he had to push extra hard and even smiled at Justin after a really good roll (sorta like "uh-oh I'm gonna have to work here")only to top it with an even more intense pounding climax.
Thank you, Tool, Junior and the rest of the crew for some more nights I'll never forget.

was front row far right side in front of justin and got one of his bass guitar picks at the end. i'll post a photo of it and the backstage pass i found, just need a little time.
phenomenal show. i mean they really outdid themselves by playing 4 songs different from the night before, along with an 11 song set. tool have not only returned to form, they are at a level i have rarely if ever seen. way to go out on a bang, summer 2010 was incredible!

36th show overall, and 4th on this tour. This show was the 2nd best of this summer tour, nothing compares with holding onto the front rail 5 feet from the stage at Bill Graham. The sound in the Nokia is what makes it such a great show. "Echo Arena" in Sac, and shitty Viejas in S.D. not the best sound. Nokia and Bill Graham ROCK!!! The pot was a surprise, but I was a little let down when I heard intension and it wasn't followed by RIT. Glad I found this website, and since I have dedicated myself to seeing at least 50 shows, I'll post the rest here!!! Spiral out...keep going...

anyone recall what he tried to say before intolerance? He sounded drunk and started by asking who had seen back to the future, and then some equation about micheal j fox... he trailed off and said fuck it and said this is an old song or something. Really hilarious.
I sat next to a guy Rob from Colorado who flew in from the show and gave me a piece of acid. It was a first time for me and it just felt like destiny. He said it came from Swissterrland, Needless to say, the show was a trip and the lights looked more vibrant than ever. Best Sounding tool show I have ever been to

He said something like "Raise your hand if youve seen Back to the Future. Alright this song is kind of like that movie. Its like the scene where Michael J Fox, now bear with me this is hard math, where he comes back from the future, or wait, back from the past to the future...or no wait...fuck it!"
I believe we heard some new stuff...sorta ambient-y stuff between songs
I believe so too. I can't remember which songs it was in between, but when I heard that I said to myself that sounds like something that will be on the next album. They have been known to do that in past tours.

Saw Seattle, San Diego, and both LA shows.
This night was the best of all 4!!
Nokia Theater is incredible. Saw them there in 2007 also. Nice to have CLOSE seats this time around there. The show was almost perfection……….Only one very special thing to me was missing this time around...... But seeing them there is an incredible experience.
Maynard was seemingly more "into" this last show. Missed having the drum duel of the other shows during Lateralus, but man, this show was just fucking fantastic! Right in Two for the first LA show was my highlight of all 4 shows - but goddamn, I was not expecting Intension or The Pot at ALL on this night. What a fantastic surprise. Thanks to the band for switching up BOTH LA nights from the other shows on the tour.
Looooooved The Patient - this night in particular as I could hear the whole audience joining in throughout the song - amazing "goose bumps" moment. That song is just FUCKING AWESOME live.
They played the HELL out of Lateralus this show (which is saying something cause every night it is amazing). At the start of the song the girl behind me kept yelling to her friend, "are you ready? Are you ready?" hahaha indeed I was!!.... I missed the drum battle this show that I saw on the others – But the end sections of that song after the solo, I dont know, there was just an energy with the band and the audience at that moment that was amazing. It almost felt like it was the "last time" they would ever play it, it seemed to be played with so much energy. It was truly one of the best moments at a show Ive ever seen.
Thanks to the guy in front of me for being cool and respectful when I told him to lower his camera from my view. If only more people could show such courtesy during a show to those behind them. Having a BRIGHT little screen of the show in the center of your view pretty much sucks.
Really bummed that I didnt get that "California Republic" shirt as I stupidly waited for the second LA night to buy and they were sold out of L and XL before the doors even opened. I Did get the poster though. If anyone wants to trade night one for the extra night 2 I have, PM me!!
and yeah - as said above - the idiots that use their flashes (LEDs on the phones) for pics - get a clue ok? youre not going to get any good shot of the show with a flash and you are just irritating those around you.
Overall, this night was amazing. The energy was unbelievable with band and audience.
All 4 shows during Aenema where "Im praying for rain" comes in, was very bittersweet - as I know the show is now almost over. But last night (this show) – though I knew now it was REALLY all most over being the last night and all……….the whole show was just fucking amazing from start to finish.
The guys really out did themselves at this show. What a way to end this tour/and my little run of 4 shows.
Thanks to the band for the experience – as always.

Besides the inclusion of the Pot which was awesome, I wanted to comment a bit further on the inclusion of Intension.
I know there are some amongst you who feel that song is just filler. Hell, even last night I could see some of the wandering by fans as they launched into it. But honestly I think it is a beautiful song. And, if you really paid attention to it last night, I think you got some glimpses of some of the next record in there. The sections that opened Intension and then eventually led into EBA and the Patient were not something I have heard before.
On the subject of new material- one of my friends noted on another message board about the new break they put in just before where the outro used to be for the final "Prying open..." close to Third Eye. Not sure if that has been getting done all along on this tour but it is different than the Salival version of same song.
I don't have much more to add to all the great reviews. But I think I will go ahead and do something I don't normally think to do and say THANK YOU TOOL! And I do not just mean the band. Thanks to all the stage, lighting, roadies etc who did such an amazing job making this show not only feel seemless, but turn both nights in LA into a special event I was lucky to attend. Even this site, which provides a great outlet for fans like myself, deserves thanks for providing to the overall experience. Awesome job guys!

Did anybody catch Justin & Danny before Schism?
Justin ripped off 2 notes to either 46&2 or Right in Two. Then Adam dropped the first few notes to Schism. The crowd went nuts then Justin gave Adam the friendly bird and mouthed "fuck you" as they broke into the song.
I was hoping somebody else caught that and had an opinion of what they were considering playing. From my perspective Justin didn't commit to a chord that the croud could make out and when Adam kicked into Schism people were onto it right away.

as sonnyboy11 so importantly pointed out............ A serious thanks needs to be said to ALL the people involved with putting on the show. These shows are no simple production and certainly dont just involve 4 guys walking on stage and showing us how well they play together. It takes quite a bit of people to properly put on a show like this and things can and DO so easily go wrong in live concerts. These shows are AMAZING as I just saw 4 of them in 8 days and wish I could have seen more. So thank you to the band - and the whole crew that worked to make these shows what we experienced.
I have been to a TON of concerts in my years of all types and sizes and levels of production - and theres a reason when I finally saw Tool in early 2007 for the first time, I said 2 things to myself.
1. Why the FUCK haven't I been making sure I catch them since I became a fan when Undertow came out?!?!
2. I will do everything in my power to make sure I see them when they come around - possibly more than once.
Thanks to all who were involved in putting on those shows. They were just spectacular.

Wow i finally made it home to Dallas. Was a hell of a drive, but so fuckingg worth itttt. My 3rd time to see them on this tour and it blew me away even more. Seeing Intention live was too sickk!! Third Eye was done even better than the first two times i had seen it live. Intolerance killed itt! Cause NO ONE IS INNOCENT!! ( The build up to that was too Sick) I have never seen Maynard so into a show (Love seeing him chugging wine the entire time and sharing it with Dalek), but i guess that is what i get when i come see them in LA! The build up of Lateralus always kills it. That song just never disappoints me! Adam's part in EBA was beautiful! It was a hell of a trip to LA and i will definitely be back. It is one thing to see them in the South, but this was the best show i have ever seen!!. Amazing visuals and lasers..i was definitely expecting Justin to start out 46&2, when i saw him tuning up his bass, But of course Tool surprises me again with THE POT!!. INTENSION was the best thing of the night, i just wish people around me could have appreciated it more, rather than some drunk guy yelling at me telling me that he wished they played "rosetta stoned". People need to appreciate the beauty that Tool brings. Why hear rosetta stoned, when we heard "INTOLERANCE, 3rd eye, EBA, THE PATIENT..etc..." He should have seen them on the 10,000 days tour. O well all in all it was a badass show and my buddy ran face to face with Alex Grey and actually made eye contact with him but was in such shock that he didn't even say anything loll! Great time. Thanks LA for badass show,

Just an incredible last 2 shows to end a great run. I'm always and i guess i should be more specific in case someone's reading this. I ENJOYED BOTH SHOWS FROM BEGINNING TO END! It was just amazing and moving for me and was glad to had been there for these 2 nights.
"Third Eye" - WOW! I can't get enough...
"Jambi" - Still a great live rock song as is "Stinkfist", etc... You know what i mean
I had the chance to witness "Intension" live at Red Rocks the second night and was kinda bummed when they didn't play it on sunday night. As soon as i heard it start to play on monday i just froze after an OMG moment. Then to get the chance to hear "The Patient" once again... Damn!
"Lateralus" is and will always be my favorite song.
"The Pot" < Holy Jebus!
Great sets on both nights and once again i can't wait for the next run. I had some great experiences throughout these shows and was able to hang out with old friends and make some new ones. Hope everyone had a fantastic time! Time to create something positive in the meantime while the next phase is upon us.
Thank you to everyone involved in making these shows a memorable experience and look forward to the next tour and album.
See you soon,

These are all that I have, since blocking ppl's spot whole night is not polite. (Although I still want to say sorry to the couple behind me, maybe I'm indeed "Intolerance" to you guys :p) But hope these footage can make up something for you. Especially The Pot...totally unexpected!!! I was trying to sell the ticket since I already attend two shows of the tour with my friends, but after all no one willing to take over and I decided to gamble they will change setlist...even though right in two has been played 1st night of LA show. I was right!!! The Pot!!! and the amazingly beautiful FULL Intension!! (definitely not a filler to me, love it so much) and I'll never tired the opening of Third Eye and Intolerance...not to say the amazing EBA + The Patient.
Lateralus solo part is not as good as b2b drum solo at San Diego show which I also attend, but the venue got amazing acoustic! I'll probably rate Nokia Theatre the best 5000+ capacity veneue in LA.
Thanks all the staff and cool audience, we make it a wonderful experience!!! Thank you Tool!!! If the new material was the between-songs part in this tour...I'm really looking forward to it!

Amazing photos and videos... I wish I could roll time back to Monday! What a fantastic night. :) Thanks for sharing!

Holy fucking shit. 6th TOOL show and jesus fucking christ WOW. Better than San Diego last week. Can't believe they played Intension all the way through. After staring at the ceiling for 3.5 days thinking about this show, I still dont know what to say besides wow. It's like discovering them all over again.

That was truly..just an amazing show. I was so happy i got to see third eye live and the timothy leary quote at the beginning was prett cool. (question authority) jambi was just kickass. i thought the entire theater was gonna blow from the outro. then stinkfist was just good fun with maynard throwing his leg around the whole damn time lol. Vicarious felt great. Intension was amazing. I could say so many good things about the show. I felt so free there. It allowed me to move like my bodys never let me move before. I was just happy :)

Both Nokia shows were amazing, nothing else can be said.. but night 2 was something extra special.
The Pot sounds much better tuned down, and The Patient & Third Eye were fucking relentless.

what does "5" after Stinkfist stand for? And the (c) copyright sign after The Pot?

I was told the "5" is probably an error. it is after jambi on all the others, meaning they played the ending 5 times instead of 2. and the (c) after the pot is for key of c.
amazing night. just had to soak it in for nearly a week. I can't say any night was better than the other, but i'd say almost perfection.
my 7th time seeing them on this tour. sat near the light/vid/laser area in the back row of the orch, and the sound was incredible. i could see everything clearly, with the exception of a guy putting his hands in the air every 3-5 seconds. random screaming during the intros/interludes and "intermission" but not too bad. sure, they had a couple flaws, mostly by adam, but not much. he's improved 3rd eye (great opener) since the beginning of the tour. maynard dressed as a cop, (switched to t-shirt and cowboy hat before lateralus) drinking wine the entire time, did the whole 'back the future, do the math, hard to follow, ah forget it' before intolerance. i still smile every time i see/hear people singing in the long version of stinkfist. everyone was pretty animated. the video to the pot was cool - mostly red, with "people" appearing to march, and the forehead/eye thing, as well as lots of firey smoke. that song was interesting. many people couldn't really tell that there was a difference, but when it started off, you could tell it was lower. and heavier. i'd like to hear it again. i don't think i'd heard it since '06 or '07? and i believe adam brought out a guitar from the "wayback" days for that song.
dalek was just an odd fit during lateralus. saw them do in at night 2 at red rocks, and my impressions were the same - just odd. ending with aenema in LA is perfect. very cohesive show.
on another note, i saw alex and allyson grey, lustmord, chet zar all appreciating the work they created and combined to make the show/tour what is was.
every single show is different, whether it be subtle or overt changes in songs, notes, interludes, flubs, ambiance, production, stage setup, audience, or the venue in general. i think because of this, i will always be a fan of the band. they are incredibly talented artists, and their abilities have not diminished. maynard can sing. he can hold some notes that are just beautiful. danny will always kick ass, as will adam and justin.
a huge thank you to everyone involved with the show and tour.

Does anyone know the names of the songs played in the background before Tool came on Sunday night? I really like the instrumental one: heavy percussion, some sort of cowbell, Afro-Cuban beat. Anyone?
I thought I caught Indigo Children by Puscifer, other than that I was in my own head waiting in anticipation of the show.

I hear ya bro. Another was the bridge dealy in Intolerance. I hadn't heard that before, not even in the previous shows I was at. Not sure if it's been done before, but I totally lost touch of intolerance when that happened and thought they WERE playing a totally new tune. Then Maynard started coming back with the "lie, cheat and steal" and I realized it was probably still a work in progress.
