i definitely agree with those people who have posted the whole abuse thing
whether you want to call it parent/child, or dominance/weakness,
its also hard to say which way the book is going.
bible or code of morals makes sense, but so does the diary (what has been done to me)

i think there is another possibility, however.
perhaps the black abuser/parent is also an authority (political, religious, educational) and though this action seems like torture, he is forming his reality for the smaller (mr. no legs). The other creatures may represent other facets of humanity, or different personality types, or other things altogether (i havent studied psychology so...)
eventually the younger mind accepts what it is given, this reality is what it knows
the droor within a droor theme gives me the feeling that as someone said, the abuse is cyclical- as is the formation of an accepted lifestlyle. eventually the small yellow guy is "taught" to paint himself and that this is right, just as the black "molestor" was taught.

i could be wrong but perhaps this is sort of a symbolism for a horrible reality that we all live in everyday, because we've been conditioned to accept it.

someone reply please, this is my first post (i need to feel good about myself)
